Now I've seen this on almost every highway I've driven on, and I'm sure you have to. It doesn't matter what model Honda it is, or who is driving it, but they always seem to drive a bit faster than everyone else. I can be driving in any lane, and I'll see a car come speeding up behind me, switch lanes to get around me, and keep on goin, weavin' in and out of traffic. I look at the back of the car, and what do I see but a big "H". And this happens multiple times on my daily 30 mile commute to and from school. From Accords and Civics, to even the Element and Odyssey! And Grandma, Grandpa, the soccer mom and the teenage drivers. Why do Honda owners 'drive it like they stole it'?

....cause that's all it's good for! oh, and hop in behind them - get where you're goin' faster, and let them get the tickets :)

I thought I saw a honda coming up on my the other day really fast, pulled into the slow lane to let him pass (at which point I noticed he was sporting a MONSTAH TACH!! with accessory shift light) then pulled back in behind him and what do I see, not a Honda H emblem but an upside down Acura Badge, also I noticed a Type-RS DX emblem, that's right a Type-RS DX. A which point I was not suprised to see a giant NEUSPEED sticker on the back window along with, suprise suprise a giant fart can.

I'm with cougar, maybe it's a NY thing or something, but I HATE seeing hondas go faster than me. I go out of my way to pass them or keep them at bay behind me. I also like to see how far some of them are willing to go to prove they have faster cars, or try to prove it. I made a Maxima send himself into a guardrail when I had my Jeep... he was pissed cause I smoked him off the line, we were up to about 80, and he decided to not brake, sent himself into a guardrail and into pieces, since he was speeding off from me, I chose to slow down long before, I kept going. Besides, what come it going to believe that a Jeep was racing a Maxima and the Maxima was the one that lost control? ;) But, I was responsible enough to make sure he was okay, I swung back around and he was out of his car kicking the tire.

When I drive my boyfriend's Honda, I just feel like I HAVE to speed...

But I have a small complex where no matter what car i'm driving, no matter how fast the other people are going, I HATE for people to be in front of me.

Now my boyfriend doesn't speed because he is scared about getting another ticket. But he will race if someone starts messing with him first.

Well the Honda owners know they can't get up to speed very fast, so they have to make up for lost time by driving fast once they're up there. ;)

Just the typical import owners. I never understood it but I agree I always see more hondas going excessively over the speed limit than I do any other make.

Must be a V-tec thing.

one of my shop buddies owns a stock Honda... I think his model is POS, but I could be mistaking..... anyhow, the other day we had to replace replace his belt, because he tried to beat someone off the line. I think he said he was going to race a cavalier, i don't remember. so back to the story. As I was replacing his belt, he was telling me how he almost smoked this cav. off the line, but then he heard a TWANG - WHIP under his hood and his car stopped. I have to pull myself off the ground from laughter, and he got all mad at me... just thought I would share that little tidbit with everyone..

It's still an H, it doesn't close up at the top. They have more design in the acura's though... I assume the TSK is basically the same as the accord sedan? either way, the tsk is pretty nice looking I think. Honda/Acura pisses me off though, it's too confusing keeping them all straight, cause the RSX is the integra in japan right? or, well, elsewhere from the US. Why don't they just keep all the stupid names the name? I am going to start a car company and call the cars by their order of creation... "This is the Pat-ismo #3, a VERY fine model" haha

You got to love Honda marketing. The Honda Accord we get in the US is a different car than the Accord in the rest of the world. The foreign market Accord is sold in the US as the Acura TSX.

Maybe you'll make more than one car before the other auto companies have you shut down.....stupid lies about drugs.....grr.

They dont have Acura over there, its the same as our car is the Ford Cougar and not Mercury. I have a friend who has a 12 second civic so when he's on a small road or a highway there arent too many cars keeping up.

update: Today I had trouble keeping up with a stock Civic EX, maybe 2000-2001, 2-door. We both floored it and he got right out ahead of me. quick little things from the get-go. I'm sure if I nailed it I would have caught up to him tho.

on a side note, the owner of a brand new '04 blue Civic Si was staring at my car as I drove past him

You can't knock the marketing of Honda / Acura , VW / Audi , Ford / Mercury. They know the consumer will spend alot more $$$$ for a few minor changes to an interior of a car, add some wood here and a fancy little thingy there and they get big dollars for it. (I don't know just my opinion)

You might be suprised at the differences of hondas and acuras....I myself own an integra, which is comparable to a civic. Hoever there are Many differences, it is a totally different car. If you really want to know them you can ask.

Err, I thought that the Integra and Civic only shared an Engine and tranny???

An integra and a civic share the same chassis.

A civic uses a D series motor which is a SOHC POS, Integra B series DOHC however the b16a2 is found in Honda civic SI's, so that is an exception . In turn none of the d's and b's parts are interchangeable. Civic is much lighter because honda left out some nice things my Teg has, ABS being one.

The TSX is kinda cool... not fast, but I like it because it's different. It's based on the Euro Accord which is smaller than the US model and has a 200HP version of the Accord's 2.4L I4.

Yeah, I think the TSX is a good looking car. For that matter, the new 2 door accord is pretty nice looking, has a nice long and sleek look. I look for it to be the next big honda to hook up. I don't know, they probably already have started it?

The accord 4-door is gross... the front is okay looking, the side is kinda plain, but the rear end looks like it backed into the ugly stick at 50mph.

I don't know, I used to think the appeal for Hondas was the fact that it was a cheap car to hook up, but the more I watch it, the more expensive used Hondas are! But, the only thing I will give them a little credit on is that their design leaves HUGE room to play with the body, as compared to cars like the Cougar which are a little tougher with the design elements like the angled cut under the door.

I will stick with my Coug over a Honda though

I personally got my Acura after my cougar was totaled. The reason why I got it and the reason why they're so much more expensive is they last. I hit 100k miles about a day before the cougar was totaled and SOOOOOOOO many things were going wrong with it. It was sick how much I spent on repairs a month. I got my Acura and well to tell the truth have not spent a dime on repairs since I got it 2 months ago. How nice, and this thing is even 5 years older than my cougar.

I guess I'm a traitor

I'm currently infatuated with a girl that drives a Del Sol as her winter car (don't tell my g/f). It's got a leak along the roof/window line that I found it to be quite surprising since I was not expecting freezing cold water to drip all over my leg.

Honda's are boring and bland, I do however like some of the newer Acura models that have come out.

My ass got handed to me by a girl in her blue v-tec civic about 2 hours ago. Girls in tuned civics at stoplights are the worst case scenario. I wish I had a video camera of this girl pulling out a car lenth ahead of me then taking off. She was trying to catch an early green or something..... we were nose to nose at around her 4th shift then did I decide that id better slow down and let her flash her white clear corners at me. I kinda gave in at 70 on a 45 road, since I rarely ever race my overweighted ATX, and the police are usually waiting about 2 blocks from that area. I never win , but oh well, at lest I can shake your rear view mirror and piss off the fool on the cell phone 3 car's away. Whoopty freakin doo-
