Why cant oxygen just be injected, instead of nitrous oxide? Would it jsut blow the engine or sumthing? just wondering

Oxygen is a little less stable and a little too flammable to just carry around in tanks in your car for boosting power. ;)

Oxygen tanks are for old people, not for cars.
..unless you want your car to explode Fast & Furious style. :rolleyes:Being a smoker would add to that danger! Even one tiny spark could cause your car to go BOOM with even a small leak...Like say a spark from turning the ingnition key.

i put an oxygen tank in my probe just shortly before the end its life, i just wanted to see if it would work, and it did!, it also blew out the head gasket! it was fun, but dangerous, i wouldn't recomend anyone to try it.
ps. i used a my dads old scooba tank and ran the tube into a one way valve and then into a tube fitting, i got both at home depot. the fitting was mounted at the begining of the intake manifold and aimed toward the engine like a nitrous nozzel. the one way valve was hooked to a bicycle break line so i could open and close it from inside the car. the overall effect was noticable but not by much, it felt as if the car was accelerating at the rate it does from 20 mph, but i was going 50 when i let it go if that makes any sense.
also the car was pretty much gone when i did it so don't think that i destroyed a good car, it was a peice.

yeah oxygen is highly explosive....
where as n2o is not flammable until its heated to 500+ degrees...in which case it seperates into oxygen and nitrogen (which acts as a buffer)
