Hey Cougar folks, Eric here from the CEG. We're putting together our annual SECEG Regional Meet and ya'll are all invited!! This year's location is Huntsville, AL on March 26-28. Here's the plan:
Friday March 26: Huntsville Dragway 1/8th mile track
Saturday March 27: Dyno time at 10am at Trackmasters (yes it's a Dyno Jet dyno)
Sunday March 28: fond farewells; as a lot will likely be in a drunken stupor :grouphug:
Huntsville Dragway info:
502 Quarter Mountain Rd
Harvest, AL 35749
(256) 859-0807
Gates Open at 5:00pm
$10.00 to watch or run
Addy for Dyno:
2807 University Dr.
Huntsville 35816
Tel. 256-759-7402
Dyno prices:
Base line|No A/F - $40
Basel ine|w/ A/F - $50
Tuning with A/F - $65
Now, this shop specializes in Honda/Acura's so the tuning option is pretty much out of the question, unless you do it yourself
That may seem like an empty weekend, but rest assured when 2 or more SECEGer's are together, calamity will ensue!! I think we'll be eating at Gibson's BBQ every meal every day. Friday before we go racing, we'll all wash and shine our cars at either the hotel or a coin wash down the street. Saturday, after the dyno, we'll prolly go on a little tour of the surrounding mountains; and not at the speed limit. ;) Afterwards, we'll go cruisin around the city, looking for trouble. I know every time I'm down there, I see more rice burners than I can walk in one night; but we still have to try! We must rid HSV of their rice infestation!!
We are staying at an Econolodge; but for the life of me I can't remember the address! PM me or email (atarinerd2000@yahoo.com) for hotel bookin/info.
Anyway, we look forward to having you all there!

Yeah I think it's the one on University; but I'm not sure. You wanna come? Drag 'n dyno; can't beat that! We tend to have fun, regardless of possible trouble. :goofy: Just like last year, we've got a group coming down from Chicago so we should have ~10 Contour/Mystique's. It's gonna be a good showing I think. Especially if Steve comes up with his newly turboed one of a kind Zetec Contour.:hitit:

LMAO! That's cool mangh. Are you down for a couple pulls on the dyno? I think the more we get, the lower price they'll give us. Do you know of anyone else you could bring out? I'd love to have a real big showing at the drag strip on Friday.

Sup guys and gals?
As for hotel info, you can find all that you would ever want to know here (http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=SE&Number=505837&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=14&fpart=all). :naughty:
And as for the Dyno, I have been trying to break free long enough to get over to HSV and get some pics of the dyno for everyone and talk to the shop in person, but my wife and I are in the middle of replacing the clutch in her 4x4 passport and having some problems. I talked to the guy that runs the dyno a few months ago and he seemed like a real nice guy. If it works out to were I cannot get over there before the meet, I will of course call him and set everything up over the phone.
As for information about the dyno... all I know is that I found it listed on the DynoJet website, so it is a DynoJet. Other than that, we I talked to him last, I was more worried about pricing and availability issues. I promise to keep everyone posted on that note.
I can't wait to meet all the new faces.
P.S. My wife and I are booking the rooms, so if you need one you can let Eric know, me know or her know. Take your pick.

CougarSVT? So you are the only one that is willing to make it out? :( Not that we don't want you too, but damn! There are several people in the area of HSV and I know there's a few people just a little further south.
CougarSVT, you are on my dyno list and I will be calling the shop tomorrow to lock down the date. I am taking it that you are looking for a baseline pull with Air Fuel Mixture readings for $50? If so or not, please let me know. Can't wait to see you there, along with the Focal Jet guys from Atlanta!!!

Dyno times are sort of in the air right now. I just got off the phone with Arthur, at trackmasters (http://etrackmasters.com), and found out that the Saturday we planned for has been taking by about 20 cars. but Arthur is willing to work with us and here is what he proposed...
We have a Zetec CEG'er that will be doing some tuning, so he was wanting to get that done on Friday afternoon, before we go to the track that night. if anyone else wants to make some runs then, we can. Those that don't pull on Friday can do pulls on Sunday. Or we can do them all on either day.
Check out the Chassis Dyno section of their site for prices. you can also view graphs from other peoples runs. Our runs should be listed here as well.
If anyone is interested in taking part in this, please let me know. I am calling Arthur back tomorrow to give him all the names of people pulling. Also, he needs to know what other cars, besides our Contours, will be pulling. That way he can schedule everything.
Thanks guys and let me know.

i got a bad crankshaft and they said it is easier to replace the whole engine than to replace the crankshaft. so im either goin to drop an svt or 3.0L in their instead.

Here's some pictures from the meet this past weekend in Huntsville. We all had a blast and will be doing it again in the next few months if we can!! the Dyno was a blast and Aurthor was great. Mad props to the guy for being so nice to all of us. I can't wait to go back for some more runs given the information I was able to gather, I should fare far better. We will see!
