I noticed the other day that the new Foci are coming with HID Headlights...with the Focus being very similar to the Cougar...what are the chances of it being a fairly inexpensive (compared to the $600 conversion kit talked about a while back) and somewhat of an easy swap?

HIDs would be so nice in the cougar!

$250? What does that include? Used ballasts and used bulbs with no projectors?

For $250 there is NO way that is a true HID kit. The parts alone are more expensive to make than that, and that's why the kits are so much. I think that my cost on these were $450 and that's just low-beams. If you can get true HID's for $250, then lemme order about 50 to keep in stock...

Cougar lights are halogen projectors not xenon or bixenon projectors.

meaning?

Halogen projectors are not capable of equally distributing the light that a xenon capsule puts out. In other words, it'll look like crap and won't light up the road any better than halogen lamps would.

My HID's light up the road just fine! THe only thing I've noticed, is that there is a slight bit of a "beam" of light now...

I'm currently working on replacing the cougars halogen capsules with a set of BMW 7 series capsules on an old pair of "tester" headlights. It would be better this way, as I would not have to rebase the HID bulbs to fit in the cougar halogen capsule. They would fit just as they should, and the beam of light would be perfect.

When finished, I will let you all know how this worked, but for now, the rebased HID bulbs in the original cougart capsules work very, very well!!!

Oh, and BTW, use this part number for the HID bulb, found in a Focus. It's an Osram-Sylvania Xenarc, and it's really cheap! Like $25 canadian!!!
