I want to get a body kit, but I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like the most. Just wanted to see what everyones opinions were on them... Is there one that you definately don't recommend getting? Should you go piece by piece? Etc etc.

Thanks all!

yeah i know im trollin , but i wanted to give my advice :p

Id say go piece by piece with what you think flows well. Sometimes the best combinations arent always what companies sell together as kits. For instance , I have the Kamanari Rear, 02 Razzi Sides, and the DragonZ front. The body lines match up extremely well and Im happy with it.

I would start by looking at what type of front you are looking for...conservative or wild? Then start matching up a sides, then go on to the rear.

Also, if you want a kit that will fit up almost perfect, with little to no modification go with something from Aerogear.

for 99-00 body style....you can get ANY sides you want from 99-02 kits....

as for the front/rear....you can get any kit that is full bumper replacement or a 99-00 front/rear valance

Personally i like the 01-02 Razzi Sides (like what Eric had on his black cougar, and Joey had on his yellow one). for front/rear there are SOOOO many choices, depending on what style you want (like what george said above)....there are the imported ones that are very $$$ like Stoffler and No Limit.....there are small and conservative like Razzi, Roush, Visteon and Wings West...and then of course Street Weapon, Dragon Z, Millenium, Extreme, Widebody and a couple others i cant remember (like Chris' kit which i keep forgetting the name of it :banghead: ) that are on the "wild side"

I would go through tons of threads in Vids/Pics and Cosmetics and just look at all the different kits that are on peoples cars. That should help you narrow it down. Also hit CustomCougars.com (if it is ever up and running, i havent been able to get it to come up for a few days now) and go through all his listings....they have pics and prices of all of them.

The Extreme front is really one of the nicest looking fronts...I have Drift sides on mine...The Drift rear bumper, which everyone seems to like a lot...And I am getting a Wings West front...I like the Drift front but it's a pain to deal with...It's low and curbs are not our friends...The Roush kit is always something to look at too...It has very clean lines...I agree that the best thing to do is to browse vids/pics and see what's out there...Also don't pay a fortune to put any kit you get, on...There's enuff of us we can do most of it for you...I've done all of mine so far...Good Luck and Happy Shopping!!! :)

Just make sure that you don't get the Drift the sides fit like ****. I recommend Aero Gear or DrgZ

Dont get anything real low like the dragon z or extreme, florida roads are horrible my last one lasted a month Iam about to be on my third front end.

The DragonZ front is pretty close to stock. The extreme however is insanely low....

Yeah, thanks for the tips. I know that I can't have anything low at all. Parking would be a pain in the tush on campus (stupid curbs), and there's so many places that I would be hitting ground... going into shopping centers etc.

Have the full Street Weapon Kit and Love it, and yes the sides did not fit but after some mod and molding they look great. Any front you get is going to be lower, how low just depends on which kit, just watch how you drive and park and you should be fine.

Frank, I've had my Xtreme front on for about 7 months now....I scrapped a few times when I first got it, but now I don't scrap anything at all

Personallly I think the Xtreme front is the best  I'm not a fan of the DgnZ front......As far as helpin ya decide...you need to know if you want it to be subtle, or something flashy.

Frank(Flossy) had the dragon z front, so he does know how low it is on the florida roads I will say though LAKELAND as a whole has some of the worst roads I ahve seen here. The aeroextreme is really low, i have the street weapon with roush springs, and cris(loyalty)'s extreme front with stock springs is almost as low as mine. If i had that front it would be on the ground. The bumper replacements look nice, but they are a pain in the a$$ to be honest. If you wnat a bumper replacement I like the blitz front. I would consider staying with your stock front bumper and getting a new front lip ala wings west,no limit, kaminari, razzi because those are made of urethane and not fiberglass. I have thought about switching back myself, because I scrape sometimes, and I always cringe whenever I do. Even Fred(phatcat00) has the street weapon front on stock springs on 17's, and he hit a parking curb really lightly, and the front got messed up a little. I have 18's and still have that problem, even with being extremely careful.

He's right...I just barely touched a curb and broke the ABS connector piece inside the front of the car...I am so careful about how I drive and only after a month I have decided to go with stock front and a lip aftermarket...I think if you ask around there is going to be a much higher percentage of people who have damaged their Drift, SW, XTrm fronts then haven't..lol...It's just bound to happen.

Ok I have the peoblem solved. If you just put some airbags on you can drive anywhere anytime with any kit.

Honestly...I've had some BAD scraps, and bangs on my Xtreme front...With everything that I've hit and scrapped, I have only mad damage to the paint on the bumper. Its a REALLY durable front end....

the dragon z wasn't to bad I didn't scrap to bad just couldn't make it in most driveways it was more my fault that one got busted up. But the extreme is really low maybe an inch of clearance with 17's on low pro's had it a month and hit a huge rock on I-4 put a hole in my bumper the size of a football. don't know what front end Iam going with next definitely not another extreme.
