Are the spark plug wires on customcougars.com just a plug and play? or do you have to cut and size them? How hard are they to put on.

they're called vitek....they should be a direct fit being as they're advertised for the I4.....if that's what you meant

if they're not a direct fit, don't get them.....but if they are it's easy as hell to installed...they just pull up from the spark plugs.....you can get them off the coil by just squeezing the clips on the side and pulling up

I got my Vitek wires from CustomCougars.com a few weeks ago, went to install them yesterday and they don't even come close to fitting. :banghead: I'm e-mailing James today to see if there's a solution.

You gotta be careful with wires. Seems there's different kids for different cars. Basically it's a mix and match with the contour/focus wires. If your wires are clip on you'll need those and if they just plug on with a boot you'll need that kind.

When I ordered my Ford Racing wires from BAT the were clip ons and I needed the ones with boots.

Yeah, I gotta take some pics of the wires, the stock wires and the DIS coil tonight to get some opinions.

I bought some Ford ones off of Ebay for the focus and they fit perfectly. Their blue but oh well, they work. I paid 55$ shipped

If you have a early 99 they changed the style of spark plug you use they have the ones with the boot the later cars have the clip. They changed it because that is what the focus was going to use. I havent been able to find anybody that carrys the ones that have the boot except for the ford wires

The problem with fitting the wires for me is on the DIS coil side, not the plug side. All the wires I have fit the plugs just fine. Check out these photos. Look at the Vitek wires vs the stock wires. And the connections on the coil. I tried an MSD Ford Coil I got and neither the stock wires or the Viteks will fit, despite MSD's claims to the contrary. Any ideas?

definitely look wayyyy different...not surprised they didn't fit

get new plug wires.....contact msd and tell them the stock plug wires don't fit....see if you can get your money back....unless you can find plug wires that'll fit over your plugs and on the msd coil

time to raise the dead again..i am looking into wire on ebay for my coug since i cant justify the cost of the vitek wires (although i am sure they are great)

my question is with the coil side of the wire.. on my car it clips onto the DIStro thing but all the ones with the eception of one set for the escort dont have the little clips on them...is there a way to get the stock clips off the wires and transfer them to the new wires?....or di just break out the duct tape??hehe j/k about the tape..

i am looking at either these (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33692&item=2467241040)
or these w/ clips (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33692&item=2467682182)
or these ones (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33693&item=2467392744)

pretty much a toss up..i guess who ever will ship them to canada the cheapest will get my bid..
