View Full Version : Yssupkat's Injured Cougar - Totalled :(
Someone tried to kill Sherrie's car today. :(
A van pulled in front of her in traffic (didn't yield right of way) and she T-boned him and may have killed her car. :cry: Here's the pictures, but fair warning - they're painful. :ugh:
Almost forgot - as bad as the pictures are - she is okay. :biggrin: A little sore and some bruises, but more mad then anything else.

I have faith Sherrie. God is with you. You came out of the accident okay. That is most important.

thank you everyone :kiss: no one was injured. there was me in my car... have TONS of bruises that are showing up. i'll be going to the doctor on monday. the deaf man in the other car was also alone.. didn't have his seatbelt on... i flipped his van custom_images/emoticons/shocked.gif but he is fine too. don't know anything about the car as of yet. the adjuster should be looking at it on monday while i'm at the doctors and lawyers.
soooo... i'll keep everyone informed. still sore but dealing with it all.. very scary but glad i could walk away from it. :)

Ouch ! Thank God no one was seriously hurt. Material can be fixed or replaced. Sherrie, I'm glad you are OK, I'm sure it was a very scary at the time. Know that God's hand was in this to protect you. Mr. Frank:(

Sorry to post so late in this matter. Everyone has been posting about Sherrie except for her other half, me. So I haven't heard anything new about the car except she should be hearing something tomorrow about her cars damage. I am very thankful she is okay and that nothing very serious happened to anyone. Within the last couple of months, with all the accidents, and anything else, I know I have appreciated all the little things. Even when you start to lose patience with your girlfriend but you try to keep your cool with her. LOL hon.:kiss:.

as for the update, here we go:
monday:
-went to the doctor, mostly bruises except for my nose, got my nose x-rayed and should know the results later today
edit: just talked to the doctor and it could take up to friday for them to get my x-rays from the hospital (3 miles away) so, this part is on hold :(
tuesday:
-picked up the police report, both parties involved in the accident are insured through allstate so the process should be sped up a little
-an adjuster from allstate looked at my car, hopefully i will hear back from them today
i'll keep everyone updated .. until you get tired of hearing about it ;)

update on car:
just got a call from the adjuster. he said that he thinks they are going to try and fix the cougar, but he hasn't written an estimate yet. so, he will call me later today with an estimate. once i have the estimate, the shop i want to have work on my car (mr freddie) will come to frederick, pick up the car, and start working on it. i will post once i get the estimate on the damage.

update:
The estimate on my car came to 7,600 and my car is worth 10,700. In order for the car to be totaled, the damages have to meet or exceed the value of my car (10,700). So, the are going to fix it. The adjuster explained that the body shop will find more damage to the car but it shouldn't total the car because there is 3,000 for them to work with. The body shop will be picking up my car from the tow lot today and taking it to the shop (Mr. Freddy at C & F Auto Body).
As for my nose, I still have not heard anything from my doctor about the nose xray.

I'm glad things are working out for you, be sure that they get the front end alligned properly or you may end up with excessive tire wear and pulling when breaking etc. The body work is EZ for them, making it factory straight could be a problem if the damage went into the front suspension. A good body shop will take care of this, a discount shop may do the best they can...

thank you, mr. frank. the shop i'm taking it to is excellent and will get it done right. they aren't associated with my insureance company, but the owner of the shop is close friends with nicky and her parents. henry (rikenbomb) also had a lot of work done there. i'm confident that it will be fixed and fixed the right way.

frank has been on my mind quite heavily throughout all of this and daily life. today he is certainly on my mind and in my heart. hope you and the rest of your family are doing well. know that frank will always be with us.. he likes to make sure everyone is ok. :)

insurance will cover $20/day so i'll be getting a rental on monday. if i want to get a car that costs more, i will pay upfront and then get reimbursed at a later date. i'm still pretty on edge in a car, let alone behind the wheel. so, i am waiting until monday and then trying to get used to the rental itself monday evening. tuesday i'll attempt to drive myself to work :puke:
luckily i have great friends that will drive to pick me up so that i can continue to chill out. ;) :biggrin:

yep.. that'd be you :biggrin: i can't even walk past a moving car without flinching... so i'm not driving yet. i've never been a "bad passenger" .. until now :(
car is at mr. freddy's and they are looking at it and the estimate from the insurance. i'm interested to hear what mr. freddy has to say about that estimate ;)
edit: just spoke to mr. freddy. they are going to disassemble my car on monday, and then call an insurance adjuster to come back and reevaluate my car and it's fair market value. then we will go from there as to fixing it or calling it a total loss ( :( ) all i know is that i am totally happy that my car is in good hands now :)

yes... i have to find a 99 or 00 V6, MTX cougar that i will be happy with and is close (like at a dealer or carmax). i can't afford to get a used car loan through the back to go to independant sellers because the interest rate will kill me. :(
soooo.... i'm trying to get the old cougar paid off and buying a new one. it's going to be a few more rough weeks for me (thank goodness for friends keeping me sane ;) :kiss: )

She could if she wanted to... The decision to total it was actually hers. The amount of damage to fix or repair was right on the line and she let them total it. :(
On an up note, she found a new car today... :banana: I'll let her tell you guys about it though. :thumbsup:

thanks, bird :kiss: you know i would NEVER do that to you though :) school is MUCH more important than aftermarket parts. plus, you'll be able to hook me up with a sweet GM car after you design one :biggrin:
as for the red one (RIP :cry: ) .. i owed $11,100 on it, and insurance is giving me $10,900 for it. so i'll only have to come up with $200 :biggrin: i also may be getting a credit on my loan balance for the remaining extended warranty on the car. :biggrin: so all is going as very well.. minus the loss of my red baby.
