I hear about cars that have molded and frenched this and that.. What is Frenching?

well you perform French Polishing on wood (heh)

anyway... if you've seen antique wood furniture that looks like it's polished to a glossy glass finish, that's french polishing. maybe when translated to cars it means it was wetsanded super smooth then buffed to a high sheen.

"frenching" = recessing

If you were to "french" an antenna, you would set the base of the antenna INTO what would basically amount to a hole where ever you were mounting it (meaning that the antenna would stick up out of a hole; you wouldn't see the base of it)...If you "frenched" a licence plate, you would make a cut-out and recess the plate into the opening.
