My friend is getting a carbon fiber hood soon and I have a few questions. First off, he is looking at VIS carbon fiber hoods on ebay, are these any good? It says they come with UV coating, what exactly is its purpose? Also once he gets the hood does anything need to be done to it, such as a clear coat applied or anything? Or is it ready to put on out of the box?

Also we live in Iowa, is the winter going to damage it in anyway? Can it handle the cold/hot temperature changes well?

Thanks

VIS does makes some good hood... one on ebay does come with clearcoat so no additional CC is needed. and UV coating is there to keep the hood from fading.... the hood wont be 100 percent perfect, but it should be ok... my Predator C/F hood had a slight gap on the passenger side but that was about it.... as far as winter whethering... i have no clue but i assume that if a fiberglass hood can whether winters alright than i guess C/F hood will too.
