Having Problems Receiving Merchandise From Bins44...

I've been trying to put off posting about this for as long as I felt was possible, but it has become too long to stay silent...

I agreed to purchase a set of OBX seats from him a while back...As some of you know, I was starting new job and was moving my finances around and it took me a while to get his money to him. He was EXTREMELY patient with me and we kept in touch very regularly through PMs about when the money would be shipped to him. He offered me a GREAT price for the seats (including sliders & brackets so they would drop right into the Cougar) since he was selling his car & returning it to stock. He even offered to GIVE me a set of harnesses that he bought & never installed!

This is why I have held my tounge for SO long...I felt it was only right to give him PLENTY of time to get the seats to me since he was being so nice and polite about everything...I sent him a money order (via USPS Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation) and he PMed me telling me that he received it and would be shipping the seats shortly...That is when the problems began.

After his original shipping date had come and gone, I PMed him and called his cell phone numerous times (leaving voicemail messages everytime I called) with no reply. After some time had passed, he called me back and told me that he had been involved in a motorcycle accident and was unable to ship the seats on time. He assured me that the seats would be shipped out the same day he called, and even offered to refund a portion of my purchase price to compensate me for the extra time which had passed. I declined his offer, and told him I was glad he was okay and not to worry about sending me any money...I just asked that he ship my seats. He asked me to call him back for a tracking number...After calling and leaving numerous voicemails on his phone (which he was not answering), I began PMing him again. After another week or so had passed, I get a PM telling me that he had shipped the seats but they had been returned to him (offerring up the suggestion that he shipped them to the wrong address). Once again he assurred me that he would re-ship the seats and to call him for the tracking number. After yet another week had passed (with numerous PMs & phone messages from me) He tells me that UPS charged him something like $150 to originally ship the seats and that they were going to charge him half of that original amount to re-ship them, BUT he was shipping him THAT VERY DAY, but he had to wait to get paid to get the money to re-send them, which had caused the delay in shipping. That was the last I have EVER heard from him...I have called him over & over again (leaving messages since he will not answer his phone) and PMed him over & over again as well.

He has had my money for going on two months now and I still have no seats.

Like I mentioned before, he was SO GREAT in the early-going that I felt I owed him a lot of latitude in terms of the time it took him in shipping the seats to me, but enough is enough. Since he no longer answers my PMs or phone calls, does ANYONE here know him personally or have ANY other means of me contacting him? I hate to do this to him (posting like this), but it has been something like seven weeks now and I just want to receive the merchandise that I have PAID FOR.

Anyone who has any helpful information, please contact me (or him) so I can resolve this matter as quickly and painlessly as possible. I deeply regret having to post about this transaction, but at this point I feel like I have no other recourse.

BTW, As of this posting, the last time he visited the Forums was four days ago (on the 15th), so I know he's still "around".

There was ANOTHER transaction here on NECO with "Bins44" involving him being greatly delayed in shipped some OTHER product before I bought these seats...I responded to the thread requesting information, knowing that I would be sending him MY money shortly, and he (Bins44) contacted me explaining the situation and telling me that he would be more than happy to put the seats on Ebay so that it would give me an "extra measure of protection" against being ripped off if I had ANY reservations in doing business with him. This only made me trust him even more (which obviously was misplaced trust in retrospect), and so I declined his offer and sent him my hard-earned money. Now I find myself in a frighteningly similar situation. I can only hope that it resolves itself in a similar (meaning I actually get the parts I have PAID FOR) manner.
I have NO idea what to do anymore....Do you think I should contact the authorties in his area and report him for conducting internet fraud?
As I mentioned before, ANYONE who might know him personally, PLEASE tell him to "do the right thing" and just send me MY seats.

This is JRALS1, the other guy who had problems with bin44. i too, bought a set of sideskirts and coilovers from him, quite a while now ago. he sounded cool as hell, gave me his cell phone number, and i talked to him many times. i made him put them on ebay, just for backing purposes, thats probably where he got that from. i sent him a money order, he called and said he got it, and would have his gf ship them out asap. so that was cool. about a week or two later, still nothin, i called him and pmed him and no replys. he finally wrote me telling me the same things he told you, first shipping problems, that they were shipped back to him, which i don't understand to this day. then next, he offered me some money for the problems, and said he would reship. i was like okay cool, then still nothin, i got ahold of him again, and he said he was going to canada, and would meet me somewhere, as i am in wisconsin, and drop them off, with a partial refund. well, you guessed it, never showed. finally after about 2 months, i finally posted something on here, and with all you people who know all, bashed me for posting on here about him negativly. but after he seen that, he got ahold of me, and said he would ship out. i pmed him and said if i didn't get anything, i would contact the appropriate people for mail/internet fraud. so he sent out my coilovers, but never got my sideskirts, so i *****ed some more, and finally i got them all. it took forever and some threatening, but i did get them. he apologized and we were cool and all. he never did send that partial refund for taking so long.

i just figured i would tell you my end, as i did send a pm to you explaining everything and to beware. i hope you get your stuff, his name is mike crabtree. someone has to know him, and get your stuff or your money back for you.

I remember you PMing me and giving me a "heads-up" on what was going on w/ you, but he seemed SO willing to make sure I could trust him that I fell for it. :(

I'm going to give him until Wednesday to contact me and give me a tracking number for the seats...If I don't get anything by then I'm contacting the police in his area.

I hope this comes to a reasonable conclusion.

i'm in same boat it seems as you. i swaped head lights and nothing has came yet.this is bad i know. shouldn't have done it but it seems i learned a good listen. and an expensive one. but sounded like a good deal though. painted head lights for factory and fast shipping. seemed neat and cool but oh well i'll find some more if i have to. oh well.:banghead:

Well, now the tracking number Mike gave me is working...Another problem though...It's a package that weighs 15lbs and is headed to Alabama (I live in Texas)!

Well THAT'S a problem too. The headlights for the cougar are 15lbs. That's how much the package he's sending weighs. Ummmm...I"m supposed to be getting headlights, interior, money, shift knob, and a quart of rio red paint. I"m pretty sure it would weigh a little more than 15 lbs if all the stuff were in the packaging. I've got 3 answering machine messages saying that I'm supposed to get all that. So Jason (my husband) called him lastnight and told him good, the headlights are on thier way, now what about the other stuff????? We'll see I guess......:shrug::disgust:

Ok, well the headlights are here MINUS the carbon fiber reflectors that he promised and with slight damage that I'm not sure can be fixed. The only problem I'm having with this guy is the total lack of communication and not sticking to his word. Other than that he's an ok guy. Jason called him (his voicemail as usual) to tell him he needs to be working on the original deal which is the dash trade plus $30 to me. The headlights were just an idea after we decided on the dash. At least I can drive myself to work now, but I still have no radio or way to plug up my radar detector. I'll keep everyone posted.

Mike CALLED ME this afternoon and said that he had decided to "come clean" about what happened...He said that he got my money and spent it on other things before he shipped out my seats. He was embarrassed and not sure what to do, so he started making up stories and trying to avoid me. He apologized over & over again and PROMISED that when he gets paid (on Thursday) he WILL SHIP THE SEATS along w/ a partial refund. He says he gets out of work at 3:30 his time on Thursday and will go directly to ship the seats.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed (but not holding my breath).

I'll post whatever happens come Thrusday afternoon.

Well, Thursday afternoon has come & gone, and once again NO PHONE CALL from Mike. :(

Hopefully he shipped the seats and just hasn't gotten back to me but at this point I'm assuming the worst.

Oh well, looks like I have to place a call to the Sherriff's department in his county tomorrow since I have no tracking number and he has not kept his word ONCE AGAIN.

BTW...I called his cell phone (and I think his house...not sure what number it was on my caller ID) earlier in the afternoon (like he asked me to) and left messages at both numbers (the home number allowed me to talk with an ACTUAL PERSON with whom I left a message) with NO RESPONSE whatsoever.

This sucks.

this is just one bad transaction among the MANY very good transactions that go on.
Take a second look at the feedback. Just because there aren't pages of posts in a thread doesn't mean the transaction wasn't a success and the seller isn't reputable.
Be wary, be cautious, but use this forum as a resource for finding out who you should and should not do business with.

Okay, here's my latest update...

Mike shipped my seats to me.

PROBLEM #1: He shipped ONLY THE SEATS...NOT the SLIDERS, BRACKETS, (or the harnesses he said were in the box OR the $110 Western Union Money Order that he gave me the number for)!!!

PROBELM #2: Without the sliders & brackets (which he SAID WERE INCLUDED IN THE DEAL) I CAN'T INSTALL THE SEATS!!!

PROBLEM #3: Mike is now back to NOT ANSWERING ANY PHONE CALLS OR RETURNING MESSAGES!!!

PROBLEM #4: Mike said the seats were in EXCELLENT CONDITION and that he STEAM CLEANED them before boxing them; They arrived DIRTY AS HELL, SUN-BLEACHED like a mo-fo and there's a TEAR in the driver's seat!!!

I'm actually considering buying a plane ticket to Ohio just to pay him a "little visit"!!!

Guys....I honestly think this is a call for some form of legal action. He's obviously out to screw you over and not honor his word as a person, indeed it's this type of immature, childish, and unprofessional manner that casts a cloud over selling on NECO. This kid is not to be trusted and from the sounds, doesnt have an honest bone in his body.

I highly suggest calling his police department and filing a claim on him. Get a collection agency after him, do whatever it takes to wash your hands clean of him.

Charles, there is an extension you can dial before you dial the number to make the call appear as "Private" on the caller Id. What service do you have? Cell ? or Local? What company?

Can i highly suggest against offering his personal phone number and forming a mob to go after him??? I mean, if you're looking for the #1 way to not get your stuff back....thats close to it.

Handle it like business, deal with him with appropriate channels. IF someone no here knows him personally, then allow them the chance to speak to him, but otherwise, use the legal channels provided for you to seak restitution. It's better in the long run.

Also, i may go through later and delete some non-essential posts in here, unless Dan or Axio wanna do it first.


I suggest contacting his authorities, regardless if he calls or not, tell them the situation, and if need be, fax all contact you've had, and this thread. Get a list going and supply that as well.

Ok, well I filed a complaint. I called Mike's cell and some other number Charles found and left messages Friday or Saturday I think saying he has til Thursday to call and give me a tracking number for my stuff or I'll take this further. I continued to say some not so nice things..lol..and haven't heard back. If anyone knows some numbers for the authorities in Kingston Ohio, I'd appreciate it if you'd PM me those numbers. I'm dealing with 2 deaths in the family right now, but when it's all over I'm gonna try to do everything I can to get my stuff back. Thanks for any help I can get.

Since I finally got my seats from him (although they were in BAD shape) and he REFUSES to respond to me anymore, I've decided to wash my hands of the situation (why be bothered by this annoyance anymore?) and just focus on supporting Joy (prowlinkitty) in HER dealings with Mike. I was able to re-dye my (sun-bleached to all hell) seats and install them using the stock sliders by just fabricating up some custom brackets to attach the seats to the stock sliders (keeping my driver's side power ability), so I don't need him to send me the sliders & brackets anymore (I went ahead and called him and told him to spend the money he would've spent in shipping MY sliders & brackets on sending Joy HER INTERIOR instead [since she's been dealing with NO INTERIOR for SO long now] so that SHE can get her interior back together again). I WOULD like to see the $110 he PROMISED me, but I think that's just a dream at this point. I have been trying to help Joy in all her dealings w/ Mike and the appropriate authories, so hopefully SOMEONE wil have a GOOD resolution to this matter. It's more important to me at this point that Joy get HER parts than me get MY stuff (although I'd LOVE to get my partial refund at some point).

I have contacted Mr. Crabtree, he seems to be very helpful on the phone, he promises he sent Joy her dash in two boxes, one of which she should have gotten and one which is coming in the next two days or so, he also was given Charles address by me and said he would send missing items., no mention of money, in my honest opinion, he used the money to shut people up, getting money from him is like squeezing blood from a turnip, unfortunately the best i can do in this case is try to get your items, and call it "lessons" learned, don't get me wrong , legally he could be gotten for alot more, including internet fraud, i would feel half good if you all got your items!

I DID get my console last Friday, and I'm waiting on the dash, bulbs, reflectors, shift knob, etc..The only thing wrong with the console is the cup spiller is either broken, or I can't figure out how to put it back together..I'm gonna have to touch the console up also, as it's chipped in several places..I'm happy with it for the most part though..I"m just waiting on the rest of my stuff..I really appreciate your help!!! :)

He supposedly sent the console and dash in two separated boxes in the same week. I got the console I think is was Halloween. If that were true, the dash would've been here by now. My husband has tried calling him a couple times to find out what the hell. As of yet I haven't called the police, one, because I hated to go that far, and two because I've lost the numbers and am waiting to Charles to PM them to me, or whoever else may have them. I know I shouldn't even think about giving him the benefit of the doubt, but I'm just too freaking nice I guess..lol...If it's not here by the middle of next week I guess I'm gonna have to get some more help and/or call the authorities. Sorry for the *****iness, but I'm so sick of this I could scream. I just want my stuff!! lol...

lol..I know this thing has been dead a while but thought I'd update for anyone interested. Mike called us last Thursday night (Thanksgiving) saying that he shipped my dash that Monday. I haven't received it yet and called him about it a couple days ago. He actually called back and left a message saying it should be here by Thursday (yesterday) at the latest and that he'd call back with a tracking number. Well no dash and no tracking number. I called him again today and no response. I seriously doubt he'll be doing anymore business on this board, but if so, I wouldn't have any dealings with him. Believe me I've learned my lesson. The only online dealings I'll be doing is through ebay and trusted neco members. He's a nice guy, he's just really bad at business and lies I think to pacify the situation. Every time we've talked with him he's been really nice. But anyway this is the latest. I won't post about it again until I (ever) get my dash. Thanks. :)

ok now for my 2 cents, this thing has been going on for about 1/4 of a year. This is unacceptable to anyone. I recommend filing a complaint with whatever authorities you can. Why are you guys being so nice to this guy? He may be a nice guy but business is business, nothing personal . I cannot believe you guys tolerated this for so long. I learned my lesson on ebay. Ebay screwed me, the guy screwed me, and paypal screwed me. To me if you pay for something you should receive it, money is hard to come by these days. Ok, trying not to take anything the wrong way, but this is the LAST post about this and I want someone to delete this thread. I have tried contacting the authorities with no luck and I have filed a complaint. I never sent him money. We were to trade parts and he was to reimburse me for shipping costs. Charles' deal is done. Finished. He got his stuff. Mike called me with a tracking number that works and the items (whether or not it's EVERYTHING he was supposed to send me I don't know) should be here by Friday. Yes, I should've taken action a long time ago. What's done is done and whatever he sent is supposed to be here in a couple days. I appreciate the help some of you have given me. As for the ones with their 2 cents, although I didn't ask for it, it is appreciated. :) Please don't take this post the wrong way. It probably sounds smartassy, but I don't mean it to. Got the rest of my parts today (At least I think it's the rest...won't know til I install it all)..minus reimbursement for shipping costs and a couple items he said he'd throw in. I'm really glad this whole ordeal is over and I'm sure most of you are..or at least tired of hearing about it all...Thanks guys for all your help..PLEASE feel free to delete this topic anytime....;):biggrin:

Actually I think maybe this post should stay so that if Bins44 (under ANY name he decides to use) comes back on the boards the membership (especially newbies) will be aware of his track record.

Since some banned members have returned using a new "alias", I think his general information should remain.

This guy's REAL name is Mike Crabtree and he lives in Ohio...Membership BE WARNED...STAY AWAY FROM HIM...THIS GUY IS BAD NEWS!

It is truly sad that the great membership of NECO has to get tarnished from time to time by "members" such as this.

You just gave me an idea. The mods of this board, or anybody else that frequents it enough and is willing to do it, should compile a list of everybodies name that has been mention in here thus far or begining at a certain point. Then, next to each name, make a mark of either good or bad transactions. After somebody leaves a transaction comment, this person will go back and add a mark next to their name. That way, those who wish to see if someone has had any good or bad marks can just open that post, look for their name, and look to see how many marks good or bad, or both, they have. And from there they can make a decision with more confidence with said person.

That's a really good idea. Thats like Ebay...every Ebay member has a list of how many positive, negative, or neutral feedbacks he has. BTW, I got my stuff Friday afternoon (I assume since I was at work) and it all looks pretty good. About to go out and attempt to install it before I go to work. Didn't get the $30 which was the original deal or the reimbursement for shipping costs, but I really don't give a rat's a** about any of that anymore. I'm just glad I can finally put my radio back and hear my system!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol...:biggrin:
