ok i have bought an alpine motorised screen and even in the lowest part of the stereo hole it does not quite clear the heater controls so i want to put it where the ashtray and cigarette lighter is how easy is this to do as i dont want to start cutting chunks out of my dash to find i cant get the screen in that location and be left with a hole......the screen is standard din size if that helps

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. I'd say make sure you close it before putting the car in park.

I havent done this, but I have been told how to do it many times. Basically, you just dremel out the plastic piece where the ashtray is, then brace that area with a metal support, and slide the unit into place. I am sure 01BlkCat would have alot more info, since he was the one who explained it to me.
