My oil dip stick broke off at the handle when I tried to pull it out of the car. I tried to fish the rest out with a pair of tweezers, then a pair of needle nosed pliers. I just pushed it down further every time I tried to get a hold of it. I'm hoping I can figure out how to get it out.
I unbolted the exhaust heat shield, and pulled it out. Then I found out that the dip stick tube sneaks its way between two pipes on the exhaust manifold. I cant find the end of the dip stick tube. I'd like find it so I can unbolt it and pull it out so I can fish the actual dip stick out of the tube. Anyone know how I can do this? I lost the cd for my ford manual and I was hoping it had a picture of where the tube meets the actual oil pan.

Also, where can I get a new dip stick? Do you think the dealership carries one? Or will I have to buy one off an internet ford supplier? Thanks a bunch...

This happened to me...those dipstick are crap...but anyway. I had the dealer order a new one and I took it there and they got it out for me for free. They tried pliers...but eventually took a small drill bit and drilled into it...then threaded a screw in it and pulled it out. Took them like 5 minutes.
