Hello!

Just picked up my '99 V6 X pack Cat last night. Very pleased with it so far! ;)

Also pleased to see that there appears to be a good bunch of support on these forums for the car; having previously had a V6 Probe I can safely say that people on the boards helped me out on several tough ocassions *visions of the water pump replacement pass quickly to mind*!

I do have a question for you all about the heated seats though - how "hot" should they get? Compared to the heat coming off the seats of the B*W I recently sold on (which one friend eloquently described as "It feels like I've just wet myself") then they seem a bit tame?

Of course it could be that neither of them is working!

I read in the owner's manual that they are on the same fused circuit as the front fogs - and these work. Any suggestions for a different way of testing that they are properly working or not?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy, welcome to the club. I believe the seats only get warm enough to take the chill out of them. They are thermostatically conrolled, so if you leave them on they wont get hotter and hotter.
The seats will not work if the outside temp is 16 celcius or above. You should be able to feel if they are on!!

Thanks for that - I didn't realise they would only come on when the temperature was lower than 16 degrees - that is most likely why I've not felt them yet!

I got the same problem with my seat as well..... took it in to ford for testing and they can't give me an answer... i might tell the guys in ford service department to check the forum, so that they can learn about cars.
