I've got a JSP CF Blade wing (Like Crispys...only shorter) the base fo rth elegs don't sit flush on the decklid...they...rock for lack of a better word. They're talking about shimming them...I just want to know if it's just me...I"ve tried 3 damn wings...the all sat the same way.
the cougar decklid is not flat.

If you use a gasket and tighten it down to the decklid all will be well.

you need to weld metal to the underneath of your trunklid so it does not rock... otherwise mine was installed by the dealer and they did a great job... but with my Audiobahn goodies in the trunk it's starting to loosen so we are gonna go the welding route if I keep the spoiler on the car.. also if you do not do that the spoiler will warp the decklid and it will be all wavy
any questions please contact me.. :) my spoiler bracing gets welded at the end of this month

I went and picked up some shims last night that SHOULD do the trick. Cripsy...are they going to weld directly on the desklid or on the mount points for the wing?

what they weld is metal braces from underneath... like this

I picked trhe car up tonite..YEA!!!! no wing...dammit. I'm going to try to get some small aluminum fillers machined to fill in the gap, and I do mean friggin GAP. Better than a 1/4 inch. Once I get them machined then I'll hade the shop check out the pic. I can't believe how bad the fit was.
Crisp, can you take a pic of the mounts on your wing? I'm wondering if somethings warped on either the wing or on the decklid.

well...yes and no. Yours fit nicely. My braces hace a different design. I'll try to take pics next week to show the gap on mine.
I've got a good 1/4 inch between the brace and the decklid.

sorry... there is a rubber gasket that came with mine that goes under each leg before you tighten it down...

Thanks for the help...I'm just hacked off right now about the whole thing. All I want is a flippin wing...it ain't rocket science. Even with the damn gasket I had WAY too much gap. I guess it's just the design of the bases. They are completly flat...no curve to them at all.
I'm thying to find a good machine shop here in town to fab up a couple of wedge shaped fillers. After seeing the Blade in person...I know why you chose it...damn this thing is SWEET....even if it is still in the box.
