View Full Version : Dial Kit Replacement
I now have on order a new dial kit, and I have already encountered my first problem, Where do I start???
How do I get to the instrument cluster to change it? Do I need and specialised tools eg Star Drives??
I tried to do this on an old Escort of mine, and I had to remove 90% of the interior to get to the cluster lol.

Altho now I see he has changed the colour of the needles.

Same guy had a how to HERE (http://www.jwardell.com/focus/guageslcd.html)
Also try HERE (http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=14&threadid=69438) for other mods.
I thought the Cat had Orange Needles, but driving last night its actually got red Needles.
So I will have Red Needles, Blue Numbers, Similar to the VW Golf's, Not so sure about the LCD screens tho,
What is it that this guy is sand papering away???
It would be so buff to have blue LCD's as well.
What can I use as a Blue Filter??

My wife showed me her matching purple finger and toe nails this mornin b4 goin to work so any colour
is possible
When i did my dials on a Calibra you had to sandpaper the rear of the needles to clear plastic and
the kit came with a tube of red varnish to repaint the needles
