To save a lot of money your better off installing it yourself. My dumb ass paid for installation when now I see it is extremely easy. All you need is patience.

well the one on customcougars.com, i heard wasn't that good, and it was real hard to do it. I plain on doing it myself or having a friend help me. But i just don't wanta spend money on one and then it not work well. What are some companys i should be looking for. I don't want the kind you have to cut and the stick on, i was looking for the eices you can just switch.

I don't think they make ones where you can just switch the pieces. I believe they are all stick on ones.

If you dont want a dash kit, your only other option is to paint your dash. I have never heard that the quality of James' dash kits were any different than others on the market though...
Good luck,

I ordered a carbon fiber dash kit about 2 years ago and thought it was great quality. Just recently 1 of the vent pieces is starting to peel off so im guessing the 3m tape is just wearing out or something. I think your gonna get pretty much the same kit from cc.com as you would pretty much anywhere else. I personally would say paint the dash. I have been looking at pictures for a bit now and decided a little while ago i will be removing the dash kit and painting it whenever i get around it. Its looked good but after seeing the painted ones ive decided the dash kit kinda looks cheap compared to painting.

if you check out the teamneco site, they have a vendor there called veneerz if i recall correctly. i hear that their stuff is pretty good. i plan on buying a brushed alum set in the future, just cause it's harder to get that look by painting the dash. if you want solid color dash though, i would definitely paint it.

yes, paint it. its A LOT CHEAPER, just more time consuming, but i think looks a lot better. dupli metalcasts paint is great just takes a really long time 2 dry.

Painting is definitely a lot better. I have painted dash as well, click on the link in my sig for some pics. Dash kits are nice but you can still tell it's something taped on on top of the dash. It's going to be hard to top painting the dash itself directly to match the body color of your car.

Out of everything I've done to my car, everyone loves my dash kit. I have red and black carbon fiber. They don't make pieces which you can switch just overlays. I got mine almost a year ago and the pieces are starting to pop up, but I put a little glue back on and they're fine again. I got lucky that the kit matches my car exact. If your looking for a solid color paint it, but if you want something different and stick out then go with the dash kit. I love mine!!

what does painting your dash consist of? Do you have to prime sand then paint or what?

I have considered paintin my dash as well.. but I was afraid to try in fear of completely messin it up. Is there a how-to somewhere that explains it really well?
