When i was gutting my precats at pucks place, i think i may have accidentally damaged my O2 sensor at the top of the rear bank. now obviously i got a CEL after we gutted the cats, but i thought that was because i didn't have MIL eliminators. After I put them in, i still had a CEL, and i got my buddy housecat to pull the code for me, and it showed this:
P1131 - HO2S 11 LEAN
where i think he said it indicates a malfunction of the heated O2 sensor on bank 1 (which is the rear bank). now, does this code corresponding with the O2 sensor i think i damaged, or simple a faulty MIL (which would be the lower O2 sensor)? I'm thinking its not the MIL, and it really is that upper O2 sensor that i hammered by accident...but i just want to make sure before I blow the money on an O2 sensor. thanks

dude that O2 sensor was positively, 100% without a doubt DESTROYED...
conclusion: replace it :)

hehe..ok, i wasn't sure if you actually got to take a good look at it puck...thanks for telling me what i already knew but didn't want to admit :)
anyone got a how-to for the O2 sensor?

Yes, turn it to the left until it comes out, remove your MIL eliminator and harness, throw old one in trash, buy new one, install the MIL eliminator onto it with the harness, insert it into the hole, turn it to the right until it's tight, pray you didn't f#$% up your MIL eliminator and be happy when the CEL is off.
FYI... my CEL is on too, my O2 sensors are fine but my MIL elim got buggered up and I've been too lazy to fix it!

you think the busted O2 sensor would mess up the MIL Eliminator? i have a hard time believing it would fry a resistor and a capacitor :)

I never said it would Ajay. I said to remove it from the old sensor and add it to the new one!

NEWS FLASH - your busted O2 sensor is the upper sensor.... which measure lean/rich mixtures... the lower sensor measures catalyst efficiency... when you gut the cats you put a MIL eliminator on the lower sensor...
if your CEL code said something about catalyst efficiency it would be a MIL eliminator... because it says something about rich/lean mixture it's the upper sensor... the one WITHOUT a mil eliminator.....

hahhaa...you know it is man! i just get the feeling that i'm gonna need to be able to stretch my arms like that rubber man character from the fanatastic 4 to be able to get the O2 sensor off :(

you absolutely MUST buy an o2 sensor socket.... it will keep that sexy bald head of yours from having to be beaten against anything. :) They can be had at any of the big chain autoparts stores for about 10 bux american
