I just got back from AZ at 4am yesterday. My car ran great the whole 1,000 mile trip back home - except for a slight over heating problem when I was going up steep hills in AZ. Maybe I need to get an SVT radiator. I hooked up the oil cooler from customcougars today. Maybe that will help with my overheating problem. My car wasn't doing very well below 2,000 rpm yesterday. Keith said I had a grounding problem so I ran a ground from my computer to the block and I ran an extra ground from the battery to that same location. Yesterday I also noticed that my car was running incredibly slow during the day, so I called Keith and he said that when the IAC reaches above 160F (I think) the program retards the timing a lot. I retrofitted a CAI into my fender and that solved the timing problem during the day. My car still seems kinda slow. Keith said to watch and see if the engine light comes back on after the grounding I did. It did come back on so maybe I'm still not tuned all the way and maybe that's where I'm losing my power. When I was on the way back home from AZ I raced a CRX and I beat him but not by very much. Yesterday I raced an integra during the day and I barely beat him, but that was before the CAI and the ground wire, so I guess that doesn't count. But today I raced a civic and we tied. My car feels a lot faster than it used to be, but what's going on with these damn hondas keeping up with me? I used to beat hondas left and right when my car was stock. I dyno'd 256.? FWHP, I don't remember the torque. I was thinking about getting an intercooler or maybe upgrading to a 3.0. Or I heard that someone will be coming out with a 3.5L. That would be awsome. Maybe I'm still just having problems with my tuning.
Thoughts/suggestions anyone?
By the way, I still get 30MPG at an average speed of 80mph! (75 zone for those wondering) Not bad for 256HP.
