Soak it with some strong carb and choke cleaner...

Make sure you completely dry flush it and dry it out before reinstalling it.

All you cougar ppl seem to have the same if not a worse problem like mine and other SHO's with crap in your intake runners. Prolly the best cleaner out there for breaking the crud down quick is Berryman's b-12 carb cleaner. You can get this stuff at Wal-Mart, and you need to not get it on any painted surfaces. Took me 8 cans the first time I cleaned my SHO intake and now every 6 months it takes less than a can. You don't really have to get it all out of the intake when you reinstall, but just know that your car will prolly run like crap till it all evaporates off or gets sucked into the engine.

Be careful about letting toooo much get down into the valves area, as it can get past the open (2 sets of the 6) valves and wash the cylinder walls down, leading to the "dry" start of no oil being present on the walls. You're safe on 4 of the 6 sets of valves though, and I would recomend a syringe or vac pump to remove any excess.

The first time I did my SHO with this I noticed a definate increase in power felt by the butt dyno. Make sure you buy the stuff in the spray cans, and don't be tempted but the cheaper choke and carb cleaners that sit next to the berrymans. You'll use 2 times as much of the cheap stuff. And you don't want to have to put you car back together just to run out and get more.
