I was driving to work when my fuel guage droped from 3/4 to zero, then like 5-10 minutes later it when back up, what could be the problem? I would like to fix it before it turns into a bigger problem.

Thanks

Don't take it to a dealership.. Mine does the same thing, took it to a dealership and they "fixed" it. Two days later it happened again. I've had it fixed 3 times.

not all dealerships are the same....if you have a warranty TAKE it in, why pay for something that you dont have to?

Cougarballa, did you personally take the car in yourself? You should have gotten a manager involved with it the second time and what was the time interval of these 3 trips to the dealership?

Sounds like your fuel gauge sender is on its way out...

Where can I get one and How much does a new one cost? How hard is it to install?

have the dealership do it. I dont think you want to. I'm not sure here but I think you have to drop the tank to do the job.

01blkcat is correct. I've had the sending unit on my car replaced 5 times in 2 years. When I would fill the tank up the guage hand would stay on empty. Later while driving it would jump to full. I haven't gone below 1/4 since the last replacement and it has not acted up knock on wood.

Mine never drops but when I fill up it takes a while (15 min) for it to get to full. This doesn't happen every time but from the sounds of it I'll just replace the sending unit while I replace the fuel pump. Imagine that ... a bad fuel pump :bs:
