I use a 10 inch flat tube powered by the USB port on my ps2 to power it. :) works well in the glove box.
If anything purchase one and try it out. it all depends on how picky the transformer is. I have had some neons where i was able to just splice into a hot and ground and it worked fine. Other times I havent been so lucky. Go to CompUSA and pick up a neon or two and just expieriment.

If these would work fine normally hooking up something powered by the car batt would be awesome cuz there only $5.99

just be sure to look for the transformer and dont cut that away from the wires connecting it to the tube.

I sell those same ones at the computer shop I work at. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work.

You can do it... just built a 5v transformer, or try and find an old Apple external drive box and steal the mini power supply out of it... very easy.

I just got one, delivered today, with a transformer off ebay. I can't wait to see if it works. I will test it and let you know.

Yeah bro, I didn't want to let people know cause they are SWEET!!. They're brighter, smaller, and only consume like 5mA. You have to make sure you get the "PC TOYS' brand. Those are the best. I ordered a few different kinds and these have a solid acrylic casing around them, thery're the best. I actually e-mailed one of the guys and he let me know about bulk purchasing. They are cheap and work very very well. If others are interested we could but in bulk, let me know,

I could do a few of these also. Let us know on bulk ordering prices. Also, is it just a simple 2 wire hookup, or how did you actually have to hook these up?

well they come with some computer plug ins but all you have to do is cut those off and you have 2 wires, switch, transformer and the cathodes, real simple.
I'll see if I can buy in bulk but send them different places, kinda like a group buy, If not I can order for the FL group and see what I can do for everyone else that lives to far to drop off.
I'll let you know
