Tonight was one crazy night.... about 1:30 am I was riding through town, just wasting some time before I came home, driving like I usually do. I come up to a light and this SUV and a truck appear to race when the light turns green, I accellerate about medium just to keep up and see who wins. I'm behind the SUV and he slows down pretty quick after the truck beats him. So when he slows I get a little close (not extremely but I guess closer than I should be) he hits the brakes HARD and gets back on the gas. I nearly had to lock it up to not hit him. I decide I didnt wanna be behind this guy anymore, so I downshift to 4th and pass him.

The next light turns red, so he catches back up, I hear him yell "HEY" and look over and he is flipping me off. I stop at the light a little ways back from him, and he yells "get up here p*ssy" At this point I just wanna get away from this guy...so after the light I stay behind for a sec, then floor it and top out second and third to around 90ish. He attempts to catch up but cant. I decided to turn off the main highway onto a side road which connects to a parallel road in about 3 or 4 miles, I turn and get on it to 60, he turns too. I bring it up to 80-90, pass a car...he is still about a half mile back. I'm hauling down the road, trying to think of what to do next...I take a right when I reach the parallel road and run hard down it...I go under the interstate and turn onto another side road, then a little ways down I turn onto another that I know really well with some killer hairpins. to my amazment the guy turns behind me. how he followed I have no clue.

I get a lead down a straight and plow into the hairpins, the sign suggests 10, I'm doing 50+. I'm hoping he goes into a ditch...left hand sweeper, into a tight right left S section...I'm using up the entire road, tires screaming, braking at the last second and only what is needed...I'm flying. I pause really fast at a stop sign and tear off again, back towards the interstate. I make an illegal pass and maintain about 80 in a 50 zone...I dont see him. I pick a direction on interstate and fly up the offramp.. go back down to 80 again and cruise...mirror is clear...car passes me, clear....no new lights get on at the onramp until I cant see it anymore...I get off at the next exit and fill up, I used almost a quarter tank of gas in 15 minutes...

I live out in the country all most, I didnt feel like getting shot by some drunk rednecks with guns so I had to lose them before I went home. 1 guy vs 2 or 3 drunks isnt a very fair fight. I posted this cause it was a strange story that these guys followed me for so long, and that it was pretty funny that they thought they could hang with me. it wasnt a "scared" thing it was a "lets see what this guy can do"

I could maybe take one of them, but not 2 or 3. I tried to tell the story well, I posted it right after I made it home, now it kinda seems strange that it ever happened ya know. I want to stay on topic, but need to clarify something. There is a difference between a cowboy and a redneck. I'm sure there are rednecks in every state, but it's not really a southern thing. Pennsylvania is redneck land. A redneck has a gunrack on his pick-up truck, spits snuff out his truck window and gets it all over the side of the truck, and is missing at least 2 of his permanent teeth. They're everywhere here, that's just how most people are here. They listen to country music and drink Genesee. Welcome to my life.


By the way, I probably would have handled the situation the same way you did. You're not a coward for avoiding what could end up being a really bad situation. If someone is being a dic* and then you are an equal dic* back to them, bad things can happen.

the best thing a person could do if you are of age is to get your GUN PERMIT.. i have mine, all my good friends just went to get theirs. a truck full of three will be no quicker to pull a gun out on some one than a single scared idiot. same if they were going to fight. if im with 2 of my friends or by myself, its not going to have a diffence on whether im fixing to hit someone or not. . Someone sprays you with pepper spray, and your first comment is that you didn't have your gun on you. And exactly what would you have done, if you had your gun on you? Pulling it out would have been illegal, pepper spray is far from "deadly force", therefore you had no reason to display deadly force yourself.

Now I DO have a gun, and it IS in my car. It is never loaded, but there is ammo always close by. Would I ever pull it out? Hell no, not unless it was a last resort. If I was in this situation, KNOWING I have a gun, with 30 rounds all within reach. I would have run also, there is no reason in the world to confront anyone in that situation. Because you never know....you never know. And just because you have a gun, does not give you the "upper hand". And thinking that way will only get you killed.

Everyone must remember, there is always someone out there who is willing to go further than you are. I know that in every mans mind, they are the best fighter, and they KNOW how things will go down. But until you are in that situation, you really don't know how you will react.

I don't mean to preach "pussyness", but today you really need to walk or run away from situations like this. When I was younger, and someone started ****, you could throw down and solve it right there. No worrying about someone pulling a gun, or stabbing you. Just your average throw down. Today, there are kids running around with guns and knives, and are willing to kill someone in the middle of the mall. So your pride is not worth your life, even if you have a gun. When you find yourself in a situation like this, remove yourself from it as quickly as you can.

This has to be one of the most bias opinions I have ever heard. I am by far no redneck. I just stopped dipping snuff, lost more then 2 of my permanent teeth in a fight, and if I still had a truck I would have a gun rack in it. Some of us hunt as a hobby also. I also love country music but it isnt all I listen to. Hell if you say I am a redneck then that is the loss of many, I will just continue to be an educated redneck with a college degree then. Next time you should really rethink some of the things you say before you say them

let me quickly correct this...
im not quick to pull out a gun. use of guns should be the absolute last option. theres no going back after the trigger is pulled. and i do think everyone should carry one. Have you ever been sprayed with pepper spray. Its like boiling hot grease. You go into panic. Thats why i said people do irrational things after getting hit with this stuff. i said that before. i carry a gun just like you Fett. and other millions of people. i carry mine legally. i am permitted. and if you have taken the course to carry legally you to would know i have the right to use deadly force to protect my person, property, and the safety of anothers person. so pulling it out would have been VERY MUCH WITHIN THE LAW. whats the purpose of carring an unloaded gun. if you get held up at the stop light, are you going to try to load it as they have you at gunpoint. thats senseless. now that line of thinking is what will get you killed(with your own gun) i do agree with you guns dont give you the upper hand. Well, guns, in the state of FL where Fett and I both live you would've gone to jail for shooting (or just pulling your gun on) that guy in your yard. Had you tried to go inside your house and he followed you, you would be "weapons-free". You do have the right to use deadly force to protect yourself or another person in the case of a forcible felony but I don't think spraying pepper spray is a forcible felony. If he attacked you with a knife or gun at the same time he would've been fair game...as long as you tried to retreat first. State laws differ but many are similar in that sense and not all even have our wonderful "Castle Clause".

Now unlike Fett I carry mine locked, cocked and ready to rock. I've been trained in the use of all types of force and have seen documented proof of too many situations that went bad fast enough that the victim didn't even have enough time to draw...much less load and chamber.

I do agree with Fett that your first action should be to exit post-haste. There is "...always someone out there who is willing to go further than you are" and I'm sure there's someone who may be carrying at least one more bullet than you are. You never know what they're carrying or willing to do with it. Start driving toward the nearest police station or another safe place (like your home if you're strapped). If they drop off, great. You have a "Road Tale" there's no shame in telling. If they're stubborn, get the hell away (within reason) and defend yourself (within the confines of the law). Remember if you do it wrong you WILL go to jail and you can't bring your piece in there to protect yourself. It will likely be confiscated in the even of shots being fired anyway even if you did it right.

Guns, you're the reason some people shouldn't have guns. You can have training 'till the cows come home but that's no substitute for common sense. First off, you were the attacker and not the victim when you got sprayed. From what I understand, you were walking up to the persons car when they pepper sprayed you. So they, not you, were using self defense. Secondly, being pepper sprayed doesn't constitute using deadly force, especially since they drove off after they did it. Had he/they gotten out of their car and tried to attack you after they pepper sprayed you, then you'd have a case. You need to get better acquainted with the law or you're gonna end up behind jail my friend. Just trying to help.

Things like this have happened to me before…

Things usually spur from people being impatient or just plain stupid. I have a tendency to let people know when they almost hit me… or when they’re tailgating me… so annoying. I’ve stopped my car in the middle of the road in my subdivision, to get out, walk up to the other persons window and ask them why they felt it was necessary to drive that close to my rear bumper. Not that it’s a safe thing to do by any means, but I was more willing to take that chance seeing that it was the middle of white collar suburbia.

One guy in a minivan, whipping between lanes, decided to get inches from my rear bumper and ride it to the next light… me not being in a hurry accelerated very slowly to 25 mph… in a 45. He got beside me, flipped me off, got stuck in that lane, got back behind me and rode my rear until the next light… and decided he was going to get out of his van to do what god only knows. My g/f yelled at me to stay in the car… but… well… she’s in the car, and I was going to make sure this guy didn’t get that close. All it took for him to sit back down in his vehicle was to see me get out of mine. I don’t know if it was just me calling his bluff… or the fact that a guy standing 6 foot 4 at 230 pounds just poured out of a lowered Honda Civic. :: shrugs ::

I haven’t done things like this for a while… and I have to grit my teeth sometimes to let someone go… pull over to the shoulder if I’m being tailgated, slow down if I’m being taunted, Ignore people not paying attention and ALMOST hitting me….

but it’s safer this way… ESPECIALLY if its 2-3 against 1 guy… I don’t think anyone really want’s to get into that kind of confrontation by themselves… that kind of adrenaline rush is spooky. I have been caught running from this kind of situation… They caught me at a light and blocked my car in… got out and proceeded to take turns swinging at me through my open window… they quit when I started laughing and thought I was a sicko who enjoyed that kind of rush. :: shrugs :: whatever works I guess.

Because you never know....you never know. And just because you have a gun, does not give you the "upper hand". And thinking that way will only get you killed.

Everyone must remember, there is always someone out there who is willing to go further than you are. I know that in every mans mind, they are the best fighter, and they KNOW how things will go down. But until you are in that situation, you really don't know how you will react.

I don't mean to preach "pussyness", but today you really need to walk or run away from situations like this. When I was younger, and someone started ****, you could throw down and solve it right there. No worrying about someone pulling a gun, or stabbing you. Just your average throw down. Today, there are kids running around with guns and knives, and are willing to kill someone in the middle of the mall. So your pride is not worth your life, even if you have a gun. When you find yourself in a situation like this, remove yourself from it as quickly as you can.

this thread is fun but seriously i have been followed to by an angry driver he was doing 20mph in a 40 zone so i passed him soon as i got near the police station he drove off after following me for bout 4 miles or so scary experience no matter what if you can get out of the situation and you choose to stay in it then imo that makes you a fool

TeamXtreme...that was the point I was trying to get across. The entire subject of this thread turned into what makes a redneck, and then some idiotic replies about different types of rednecks. I was just trying to be sarcastic, it didn't come across that way I guess. My point, not stated well, was it doesn't matter who it was or who it could have been, or where he was, he handled it correctly because you never know who you're dealing with and what could happen. I didn't mean anything by it, I wasn't trying to be bias. Sorry for the miscommunication.
