has anybody in the us heard of any oil feed problems leading to engine failure. some of the guys here in the uk have experienced it. as far as i can make out the jags and other fords with duratecs havent had these problems. anybody give any advice.

Rumor was about 2 years ago that the Contour guys where having problems with sweeping right hand corners sweeping oil away from the pickup tube and starving the rods and frying rod/main bearings IIRC. Do a search at CEG and you will get many results. IIRC only 1 or 2 Cougars have posted here of similar problems.

I think someone mentioned Ford quietly redesigned the oilpan to eliminate this problem.
