I am having a problem and not to sure how to explain it. Usually occurs when going on the on ramp. When i get to about 60km/h as I think it is going from 2nd to 3rd gear the car starts to jump around, and doesn't go up to the next gear. First time this happened i had just under a quarter of a tank, so i thought maybe it was condesation in the lines, but it happened again at half a tank. It will also occur if I am a rest and step on the gas hard at around the same speed. I took it to Ford, and they couldn't find anything. They took it on the highway and hooked it up to the computer as well, but no codes showed up. Anyway, they never found anything and charged me for their time. They didn't seem to find anything with the sensors. So i don't know what to think. They suggested that it was Esso. They say the gas there as well as shell sucks due to some sort of additive. I don't know what to think. i will use some of the supreme from petro a couple times. But i don't think that is the problem. Has anyone had this problem before? Do you have any suggestions of what may be the problem, and what should be my next course of action.
Thanks,
Cirberus

Mine does this from time to time between 2nd and 3rd gear... it's very rare that it happens, though. You might want to check the TCC, but that normally only interferes with overdrive when it goes bad....
I would also like to know if anyone else has this problem, or knows the solution, as it happened to me a number of times done to CF.
(Yeah, I'm trolling in the Toronto chapter's forum  )

it sounds like your fuel pump is kaka....and i don't think that a fuel pumps cause a CEL, which makes them tricky to diagnose....try changing your fuel filter, and see if that helps (the how-to is on mc-neco.com)...if not, time to replace that pump...anybody got a second opinion on this?
Well, it happened twice to me. First time, everytime I would accelerate hard, the car would stutter. The engine simply wouldn't rev. Anything about 4500RPM, and the car wouldn't move. I was also getting TERRIBLE gas mileage. It turned out to be my fuel pump. Replaced under warranty. :)
Second time, any time I would get up in the revs (5000RPM +) the engine would rev VERY slowly. Turned out to be my plugs. Got new plugs, problem went away. :)

yeah, plugs and wires are definitely something you should look at...but like mike said, i think it would be more apparent at high RPMs...

Mine does that too under 1/4 tank. I'm going to take it in the next time I have the tank low and get it diagnosed. Probably fuel pump though.
