I just saw rgmatzke's cougar posted in for sale. He said it was a '99 with a returnless system, but he used the extra fuel pump and FMU thing from the vortech kit. I thought it said in the installation instructions that you don't need the extra fuel pump of the FMU if you have a returnless fuel system.
Should I have installed these two things with my kit?

An FMU requires that you have a vacuum controlled FPR...you do not, so you do not need one. It raises fuel pressure as a ratio to boost as fuel psi: Boost PSI
An aftermarket fuel pump or inline fuel pump can be used with yourset up if you so choose...

arskicracer- you did it correctly with the larger injectors and I think I heard your going to streetflight for a tune? (very smart). The FMU on the returnless system was a complete hack. Stick with you larger injectors, stock fuel pump (unless you swap a walboro which isn't a bad idea), and your custom tune from the masters at SF in AZ. You'll be a happy camper!
What engine are you running? A SVT?

Yes I will be going to SF for my tune. I was going to go to the fordchip tune in Austin, but it's been weeks and they haven't posted a date yet, so I'll be taking a trip to AZ leaving Tuesday. I'm going to tow my car there with a uhaul. I don't want to take any chances with this new engine. I have a 2000 SVT engine.

Good for you expect about 270+hp and 205 TQ to the wheels. It will be a screamer, mine is just sick to drive, 'stupid' fast is the term a good friend of mine used once to describe it ;)
