<u>Saturday Sept 13, 2003 to Sunday Sept 14, 2003</u>
<u>London, Ontario CANADA</u>

Morning events include meet and greet at my house, pictures etc.

Afternoon, for those interested the 1/4 mile track will be holding test and tune, as many runs as you can get this will also be a show area for those interested and I will hopefully have trophies for the following

1) Best overall
2) Best interior
3) Best Exterior
4) Peoples Choice
5) Longest Drive

Evening events will begin with a cruise downtown and finish at The Fanshawe Conservation area. I have booked the "beach pavillion". This will be the main party area and dinner area until 1am. there is a grill large enough for 20+ burgers so bring your tongs cause we're camping :) After indulgeing in some drinking and stupidness we can walk to our campsites and have a bonfire and chill out. The pavillion was rented so we can be as loud as we like until 1am. After that, we have to bring the noise down a bit. This Park has it's own police force 24 hours a day and controlled and gated entry. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN SITE. Our pavillion has one wall that opens so we are 3/4 indoors so the party will go rain or shine.

<u>I hae aquired my liqour liscense, all alcohol MUST be kept indoors at the paillion, after we are done eating we can drink on our sites with no problem</u>

On Sunday we can do whatever we want originally I wanted a cruise to Grand Bend but thought the 45min trip up and back might be to much for some. If you have any suggestions please let me know. For those interested in staying in London Sunday night or Friday night I can get you a very cheap rate at a hotel or you can pitch your tent in my backyard lol.

<u>CONTACT INFO</u>

for those mapping directions, we will be meeting at my house (preferably at/before noon so we can get to the track) at 1005 Osgoode Dr. London, Ontario. please print mapquest or Yahoo maps. If you need to reach me, please feel free to call (519)646-9342 anytime and leae your name, phone number, and reason for calling and I will call you back ASAP.

<u>LINKS:</u>

St. Thomas Dragway, less than 20 min from my house (http://www.stthomasdragway.com/schedule.html)

1/4 mile racing will be $30 (Canadian), as many runs as you can get in. When I spoke to the owner he told me there was a truck show thing coming in that day aswell, so we should have lots to look at and will have lots of fun. Chris Wong MAY be able to make it with his supercharged Contour, and AtomicINternet WILL be coming with his supercharged cougar....I wanna see these 2 race!!!

Doesnt look too bad for me either... Need to check work schedule closer to the date.

LadyX

Well, I think the cruise to Grand Bend on Sunday is a good idea! They have a huge flea market open only on Sundays there. It's like $2 a car or a person, I can't remember. Plus then, we can cruise/walk the strip, play mini golf...I'd like to do that! Besides, we can go home straight from there. I know a short cut, for anyone who wants to go back to Windsor/Michigan after.

That's my vote!
and, lets not forget, we can still have a bday bash for Shadowcat!

ND4SPD
07-23-2003, 01:14 PM
I'm there 100% :)

its about an 8 or so hour drive for me i think... what time would we be going to the Fanshawe Conservation?

i'm just debating whether to leave friday afternoon and camp out at your place or hotel, or if we're planning on going to Fanshawe later (dinner time or so - 5/6pm) then i just leave early saturday morning...

Excelcier
07-23-2003, 01:17 PM
Is there any details / webpage on the campground to get some more info on it like, stuff they have, a pool? etc...

I may also consider a hotel for the night as it may be easier than setting up a tent etc. Know any cheap hotels nearby?

Mike

I'm there. :)

ya... ditto... althought i KNOW i will be getting a slow 1/4 time on account that #1- i dont race, therefore have no experience  and #2- i'm not going to remove any of my audio stuff.

but it should be fun racing another cougar anyway!

Dan, Here is a question for you......what if I want to bring my dog?

Only problem I can forsee is the track or if some people have a fear of dogs.

If bringing Mackenzie sounds like a really bad idea please tell me.

MetallicaCougs
07-31-2003, 06:01 PM
I have no more vacation days left this year. :( I can't take Friday off, the best I can do is leave after 6 hours and skip lunch and then it won't count against me.

LadyX

looks like its almost shaping up to be the best meet of the year
I absolutely agree! We'll probably have more fun here, than at Cougarfest! (maybe)
All we need to make it perfect is some Red Death! Wich I missed out on at CF.

And lets not forget, Shadowcat's bday is the weekend before, so, we'll have to remember to celebrate that!

slurpee
07-31-2003, 08:29 PM

LadyX

Is your supservisor male? Tell him you're dealing with "Women problems"

MetallicaCougs
08-01-2003, 05:36 PM
LOL no she's female. The thing of it is, you can call in sick when you are out of vacation days but not only do they not pay you they take away from your year end bonus. You start out with 60 paid hours as your year end bonus, you miss days beside your vacation days and they take 8 hours of pay away from that. So even if you work 4 hours that day, they take away 8. You have to work 6 to not have them touch it.

Dan is luring slurpee there early with talk of going to see canadian strippers friday so it doesn't look like I will be able to go

slurpee
08-01-2003, 05:58 PM
I didn't say he would take me, but he asked how they were down here. I was thinking when I get up there that we could hit a bar (maybe not strip club) and of course ya know me...see some beautiful women. boy, I know I'm gonna here about this one.

MetallicaCougs
08-01-2003, 06:13 PM
:( I just wanna go too  I even offered to strip instead and he still said he has to think about it.

Sorry for the late replies.....

I checked out the Pavillion Friday.....OMG its AMAZING!!! and we're like 75ft from the lake, and have 3 patios. The lake even has a small beach area and a sectioned off swimming area.

Cristina...I asked about the dogs, I don't think it's a problem....when you call to reserve a site, I'd ask them. But you might wanna think about what the dog will be doing while you're drinking at the pavillion.

I have 4 prizes (small ones) thus far. I'm trying to find a place that will do the trophies for a bit less $$ than what I have been quoted so far.

Jason, you have a PM. For others looking for a hotel Friday night, I have a meeting next Friday with the hotel management, I'm going to try and get a $70 deal. ($55 US)....but that's what I'm TRYING for...we'll have to wait and see.

Mary...What time do you work until? Is there any way you can get out early? I don't care what time you guys get here, I have a liquer store in my bedroom, we can party in the back yard all night.

Mike
08-04-2003, 10:18 AM
OK, theres a few small details I think need clarifying. ;)

1) Are we meeting at Dan's place first?
2) If we're meeting at Dan's, where are the directions for those who have never been there?

That is all.

Dan, couple questions for making the reservations;

1) Is there a group name ( Hamillfest for example ) to ensure upon reserving that we are all together?
2) 10 -- &gt; people is a discount. Since we don't have a solid commitment at this moment, if more than 10 people register will they give us back the difference?

slurpee
08-04-2003, 03:37 PM
hmmmm Lets see what do I need, Supercharger, or turbo, ground effects, graphics. Is that asking to much. Mary and I are in heavy conversation on this. The verdict will be out soon. I just can't wait to get up there and party my ass off. This'll be the first time out of the country. I'm gonna bring good ole fashion budweiser for ya. I'll have to try your canadian beer up there, I hear it's pretty strong.

<u>JUST SO YOU ALL KNOW</u>

The parks phone lines have been down this week and last so I have been unable to talk to Becky about the group deal and getting the sites together, if you have allready booked a site, let me know under what name via PM and I'll get us all together. She'll be calling me tomorrow.

1:30pm-4/5pm - Show/quarter mile racing at Sparta
5:30pm - pick up camping gear at my place, last minute shopping, head to the park and setup.
7pm-??1am - BBQ will be lit. let the drinking begin :) drinking games are open field, music, whatever
1am-??throw out garbage :) and head back to sites for fire, no-one try to fall in please :)

Sunday morning...weather permitted

11:45am-wake up and go for breakfest
12:00 - decide on the following since many have a long drive

A) some ppl can stay at my place Sunday night and we can....

i) Go to Grand Bend (45 min away, beach city)
ii) Go to Port Stanley (20 min away, just a beach and fry shack and bar)
iii) Go to East park (local, batting cages, golf, putt-putt, go carts)

as mentioned...this is weather permitting as it's out doors....indoor options

i) Bowling/video games at Palasade
ii) indoor go carting...but I think that place is closed??

For those of you needing directions to my place.....it will be posted 2 weeks prior to the event....if you need it now, I will answer your PM with it, simply ask :grouphug:

- toothpaste is a good associate for a toothbrush, either that or you're brushing with skunky beer paste!
- brush / comb
- tarps / umbrellas ( never fails to rain on a camping trip )
- water / beach toys ( volleyball, frisbee, football, etc.. )
- SUNTAN LOTION! ( just to be safe, yes you can get a burn in Canada in September if you're not careful )
- ice / cooler
- folding chairs and beach umbrella
- condoms / french ticklers / body butter for orgy at the campfire

slurpee

I was talking to someone down here and they had mentioned that I might want to change over some of my money at the border. Is that a good idea, or does everyone accept u.s. money?

Excelcier
08-12-2003, 04:02 PM
Most places will take US money but they give a bad exchange rate. The borders is better, however, if you want the best exchange rate, get CDN $$$ at your bank. they'll have some. It's good to have a few bucks on you.

MetallicaCougs
08-12-2003, 04:48 PM
Exchange rate - what if you just put something on your card? Does Visa give you a good rate?

If all the guys bring condoms, then the girls should be set? ;) JUST KIDDING!!!

Will there be outlets for hair dryer/curling iron type of things?

Swimsuits really? I thought by September you guys were under a foot of snow? :cover:

You have no idea how many Americans come to Canada and get off the bridge in the middle of summer wearing a parka and snowsuits and gloves with skis on their car thinking that when you cross the border there is an instant arctic wonderland. They just don't understand that the climate does not change when you cross the dotted line on a map. They are absolutely stoned shocked when they ask where the snow is and we explain it to them.

FYI.. geographic fact... London Ontario ( Hamillfest ) is more south than over a 1/4 of the US!

Visa won't rape you too bad on exchange.

Curling iron.....

You will get the best rate of exchange when you charge things because they use that day's exchange rate.

I was joking on the snow thing, but also I am in southern Indiana. We don't get bad winters here, snow comes late and leaves early. Anything about Indy is artic to me, I was meant for Hawaiian winters. when do we get a CF there?

If there are showers, I need to fix my hair afterwards. You are married, you should know girls are not as wash and wearable as guys

:( Dan, I guess I'll have to be removed from the list -- my job won't give me those days off anymore

I hope everyone that goes has a great time!

You can also withdraw money from a bank machine using a debit card. Exchange is at the current rate. I do this all the time in the US

Think I will be able to bring the SRT-4 out? I am getting a few new "Toys" for it so I would need a track were it's rented out and I will be able to use the hell out of it:evil: Or is it not rented out and we are just showing up? If not how busy is the track?

Jenny (LadyX) and I have site #434 ( your neighbor Dan! ).

BTW, note to everyone, call 1-866-668-2267 for your reservation, the number Dan gave just tells you to call this number anyways after listening to a long message so save yourself the trouble.

If you want to see a layout of the campground area where we're all staying, Go here. (http://camping.camis.com/setmap.asp?map=4) You can even click on the sites to find out info about each one. We've got a cool corner lot big site.

If the link above doesn't go there or work, it may not, just go to http://camping.camis.com directly and go through the options..... "organization"..."Ontario Conservation Authorities"... "Upper Thames River Conservation Authority" ... "Fanshawe Park Conservation Area" ... select section C1 from the map, just move the mouse over the map.

Tim man... just get a tent...

each "lot" can hold 6 people / 3 tents ... I'm going with a friend, so if you Crispy and Jim (if he comes) want to share my lot, that would be aweseome :)

infact, i insist :)
