i need help

first i have the mtx on my zetec
i was driving the other day and i shifted 1st to 2nd and when i did this it was like i had no gears at all left to right or front to back. there were no signs of this or anything noises or anything there was just no gear.
anyone got an idea on this?

Do you mean Neutral? That's where it goes in between 1st and 2nd. ALSO between 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th, and 4th to 5th. Its an H pattern. Is THIS what you mean? Or was this while it was IN gear?

there are no more gears.
i shifted from 1st to 2nd and there was nothing it was like everything was missing nothing would catch or anything, it felt like it would catch in reverse but the lights would just turn on and stuff.

I have the samething on my mtx and always happen once in a while on all my bottum gear 2-4 and reverse....
