View Full Version : Removing aftermarket head unit

How do you typically pull out an aftermarket radio? There's nowhere to use a removal tool like the stock radio.

depending on how the install was done you have two options
1)get the release keys that come with aftermarket decks and use those.
2)grab the plastic dash kit and give it a tug, be cautious as sometimes you can break the kit

Which type are you wanting to remove?

It's an Alpine CDA-9813. Think the mounting kit is a Metra. I need to get at the back of the headunit to connect a AiNet cable. I tried just going from behind by removing the sidepanel in the footwell, but I can't see/get at the outlet.
