I am planning on buying a cougar this summer, and could use some help with the pricing. I just basically don't want to get ripped off.

Im looking for one with around 100,000 Kms, MTX, I4. I have been trying to find the pricing for them, but no luck with finding the Cdn $ value. I searched autotrader.ca, and was only able to find one, and it was going for $8500. What would you guys consider a fair price for one in the GTA area?

Also since I see most of u have the V6's, what would u guys think I should be paying for one with around 100,000 Kms, and MTX?

Thanx for the help.

bleh, don't bother with the I4 unless you plan to do some serious modifications to it....
the zetec engine has a lot more mods than the V6, but you'll spend quite a bit just catching up to it power wise, so I wouldn't bother...also, i can't imagine the V6 being that much more expensive than the I4 at this stage in the game (car out of production, 100k) but I could be wrong. And taking into account what I remember some of our board members have been offered for their cars by dealerships and such, I would THINK you could get a 99 V6 MTX starting at about 12k (maybe)....best thing to do is shop around...

I'm not sure if you would want to pick one up in the States, but I know of a list of Cougs in the Buffalo/Niagara area that are mostly all V6, under 60,000 miles, and going for between 7500+ USD

if he did that, by the time he brought it over the border with taxes and conversion, it would probably end up being around the same...

I may be selling mine soon if my new car comes in, it is a 99 Tourmaline Green V6, automatic though, but it has 52,000 kms, fully loaded except for the moonroof, Injen intake, Borla dual exhaust, 18" Enkei RS6's (the stock 16's are on it right now), Razzi high mount wing (plus the stock one), Visteon hood scoop, painted tail light and headlight covers to match and a few other little goodies! I'm a couple hours north of Toronto, but I'm down there alot for work, just send me a pm and we can discuss a price if your interested.

Thanks,
Peter.
