So no one gets confused... my car was a Mustang GT and James's car was a Tiburon V6

wow, I just looked at that post and my formatting was all screwed up when I pasted the info from word. I don't have the time or know how to fix that. If anyone can setup some formatted chart I would appreciate it.
Thanks for the update on the Mustang and the Tiburon Frank.

Thx once again for setting up the dyno was very cool. Just curious if people would put either ATX or MTX and list there mods also so we can compare between different mods and trannies. i was upset with how low my numbers were i am J.Keeler all i can blame it on is the heavy 18's  i hope.
My mods are in my sig.

126.6 hp and 124lbs torque
Only performance mods i have are intake and exhaust. Overall i was very pleased with my numbers considering what i have
I also have a 2000 ATX

Adrian here, 133 torque, and 150.5 PHP Dont know why my torque is so low, I still need to do an oil change and have all my stuff clean.
I am running a cold air intake, exhaust, and the SVT UIM and TB

don't consider your torque low, consider your HP high, thanks to the added breathability.

my best pull was 147.2 HP, 130.6 TQ
the run should have been better but...
I've got some kind of instability above 4.5 rpm that makes the curve drop and squiggle. could be anything - plugs (doubtful as i just changed them), wires, coil, dirty injector...
but I think it might be my positive battery terminal, it actually started melting on the way home :flushed:, probably the electrical was wavering at higher rpms to feed the ignition system. then i gotta find another dyno... :)
ps it is a manual

I posted this in the other thread, but it would be more relevant in this one:
"The dyno seemed to be reading a little on the low side for everyone... call it a hunch, but when stock autos are dynoing in the low 110s and stock manuals in the low 130s.... something has to be off. I'm going to be dynoing my car at my normal shop to confirm this. You can see it plainly in the torque numbers... horsepower tends to vary a lot with mods, but torque does not... and in this case, every car was well below normal torque for its engine/tranny - even my Mustang. (Of course, this was no one's fault and having the Dyno was a GREAT idea)."
I am almost positive that the dyno was reading low by around 7-9%

i would agree. Given my mods i would have expected more. if it indeed did read 7-9% low then i would have had nearly 166-170fwhp. Which from how my car runs on the street I dont doubt at all.
my mods: gmk cai, svt tb, svt uim, svt lim, msds headers, gutted main cat (bad i know), flowmaster duals, i also dynoed with my 19s. My curve was amazingly smooth. Which i attest to my Denso Iriduim plugs. Granted i have done no tuning yet...i am hunting for an apexi Safc at the moment.
i dynoed 155.2 hp and pulled the highest tq of all the cougars @ 149tq.

What I also noticed is that every single stock Mustang GT dyno I have seen had at least 270-275RWTQ and 280-300 with bolt-ons. My reading of 252 is unheard off. I'm not losing sleep over it because I know better than to think there is something wrong with my car - it's only a month old, runs great, and the HP/TQ curves were shaped right and very smooth but the numbers are just lower than they can logically be at every RPM.

i scanned in my dyno plot. you can see above 4.5K rpm i am having problems.... oh an those spots are from where i got wet a bit :)

Mine's an ATX with the following mods:
SVT UIM
SVT TB
BAT intake tube and MAF adapter w/ K&N filter
gutted precats
TruBendz cat back with MagnFlow muffler
1st run: 135.6 HP 128.3 TQ
2nd run: 134.0 HP 130.5 TQ
I agree with Frank that the dyno seemed to be putting out low numbers since I had dynoed earlier this year without gutted precats at 138.3 HP.
BTW may last name is Sonza-Novera.

2001 ATX
SVT UIM
SVT TB
Borla Duals
BAT Air Pipe
MAF Adapter w/K&N
1-HP=129.7 TQ=123.5
2-HP=128.4 TQ=126.8
I thought that a stock ATX should dyno 130, because I was expecting closer to 140 with my mods.

dude , either my car is a freak or something was wrong with the dyno. I only have intake and exhaust plus an ATX and my hp dynoed at 126.6 and torque 124.

yeah thats what i thought - even though ive got to fix a few things on the car - i was definitly a lot lower thani expected
i mean geeze!! the 1 v6 atx with most mods, gets lowest pull -- come on
121.9 HP 128.2 TQ
MSDS Headers
SVT Throttle Body
SVT UIM LIM
Injen Intake
Full Dual Exhaust
maybe it was my 18's???? trevor and brad both agreed i needed new plugs and wires - there was an ignition problem on my graph
maybe its b/c im a late 99 with a few miles on her
yeah cleaning - but i didnt lose 15 horse b/c of lack of cleanliness
someone said something about my secondaries (still dont understand this - the car is fuel injected???)
and something about my overdrive button being on??? i know when i replaced the shifter i didnt hook up the O/D button. so i dont know if its on or off??
i dont know - all i know is that ive got to fix it -- yeah i was EXTREMLY BUMMED OUT ABOUT MY #'s

As for cleaning they mean take off the UIM and clean it and while your in there clean off the secondary butterflies and do the plugs and wires. Yes your car is fuel injected but it still has secondaries. I know what my stock UIM looked like after 30k, it was really built up with dirt. It took about 2hrs to just clean the butterflies.

Sam... I'm almost positive that you would have put down 130-135 on any other dyno, any other day. Since that's still kinda low, I would check the following things:
1) Is your cat starting to get clogged? When in doubt, hollow it out... ;)
2) Is your air filter dirty? This can make a big difference if it's really bad.
3) Is your check engine light on?

thats what Im saying
1) not sure? ------ how do i go about doing this?
2) looks good to me
3) nope
what is the best stuff to get to clean the UIM with?? yeah i know its pretty gunky in there

if you notice the stock tibby dynoed 147 @ +17% thats only 171 at the flywheel.
meaning if you account for possible low dyno numbers? then add 5% to 147 and you get 154 which is 180.58hp at the flywheel.
There for i say the DYNO was reading 5% low.

I went to the dyno after most of the cars had already left, and I don't think that there was anything wrong with the dyno. The numbers were right on for the Roush Stage 1 and 2 Mustangs. I had a conversation with the guy who was running the dyno, and he said that the dynojet systems will automatically make the corrections for temp, humidity, and elevation. I pulled 229.5 and 264.6 which is right were I figured it would be.

Corky, who else went with you when you dynoed? Any Cougars?

Im Matt Hicks the guy with the lowest readings but not bad for completely stock i4 mtx. 109.6 is like 5 higher than im supposed to have so if its 5 percent low then im even more happier.
When we dyno'd Cougars several years back in Pennsylvania not a single one dyno'd less than 140 of the MTX V6's, most 142-160 with very little mods, and the SVT Contours ran minimum in the 160's h.p.. It was a dynojet BTW.

I agree that it would probably vary with a different dyno. However, the new tib getting 171 at the flywheel should be correct, they had a press release a while back saying they overstated the numbers and it is actually 170 hp not 180 hp.
I ran with the mods in my sig, with my 18's on and pulled 155 whp. and 144 ft lbs.
Later in the day a reset my battery and ran again, this time only producing 150 on the first run and the second run a mear 146 whp! I guess the car doesn't run better after resetting the battery like I thought it did. After seeing my numbers, I would like to get the SVT UIM and TB.

Just to back up Matt/Corky's statement, on the dyno before him was Fordman's SVT Focus, and before that were 2 or 3 Tidewater cougars.

I went along with Corky. I dynoed a 153.5 HP and 144.7 ft-lbs of torque. It was right around where I expected as well.

I hope the dyno was off! My #'s suck ass!
Ok- you got mine all wrong but its ok. My name is Slade Jesse (first name is Slade) and screen name is Sled. Sled was with wrong guy. Thas bout it. Oh, and I have an MTX
Oh yeah- perhaps it has something to do with the 100 or so degree temps inside the building? I was sorta surprised by mine actually. I definitely have high rpm issues though- some really really funky stuff happened just over 6K and even on the street my car hates going over that now. Might be the fuel pump again, might be some ignition stuff, and I am getting another low voltage DTC so maybe the alternator #2 is on its way out. Fixin the fuel pump for good and getting a jacobs ignition this winter so hopefully that helps. I have a custom short ram intake, custom cat-back, plugs and wires, and I ran a couple extra grounds too...just for fun.
