What is the best kind/type of synthetic oil to use on a '99 cougar?

i use mobil1, that seems to be the standard...although i think there are a few types of oils regarded more highly, but they are significantly more expensive...

Yeah I use Mobil 1 5W 30
I just bought 2...4.75L jugs in Virginia for $18 each!!!!
