I need some input, Please.

What are some of the pros and cons to replacing my automatic
transmission that has traction control and works good to a
manual transmission with a better fly wheel and racing
clutch?

Does the computer or computer chip have to be changed
for a manual transmission?

Is it a big problem to add the clutch pedal and linkage?

Whats involved in the change out?

I found a manual transmission out a 1999 with low mileage for
$350.00 Is that a good price?

Thanks

we've posted about this thousands of times, questions have been asked and answered. I'm one of the few people that has a successful story on a ATX MTX swap and we concluded that due to the amount of time, money and parts it was easier to trade your cougar in and get a mtx. even SELL the car and buy another cougar, but dont waste your money like i did. Im not preaching im just warning, that damn swap put a big dent in my pocket. i posted an "how to" under Z3BlackCat (my handle when im in the US). i spent almost 3gs in parts and services. i did all the labor myself but i had to get the computer reprogrammed and fluids, bearings, etc.
things that we dont normally think about when doing this:
1) radiator
2) the damn car keys wont work
3) a new clutch
4) the plastic bearings inside the infamous cougar tranny
5) subframe has to be modified to fit the new tranny

and a lot more, its been 2 years i can remember it all, but its a pain in the ass.

the Pros:
It drives so damn sweet afterwards makes you think all that work was actually worth it.
