Just as info for those of us still in Ohio, I recieved an AIM message from Sare today from Virginia Beach, VA. It took them 13 hrs to get to CougarFest instead of 7 hrs. I guess there was a problem with the decisions on the route taken that caused them to take an extra 5 hrs to get there. Other than the extra time they had a safe trip there so all is good.

AVOID 522 to VA ! ! !
It's only TWO lanes, and it'd be really nice drive if it weren't for the old guys in Caddies, the semis, and the farm trucks. When there wasn't anybody in front of us, it was a better (as in more fun) drive than an Interstate, but it took forever...
Other than that, no problems, mechanical or otherwise. One little boo boo getting lost in some town while following 522 ! but we quickly got back on track. And nobody wanted to stop to see the dinosaur park :(
Anyway, looks like a big turnout. Apparently the cops have already been called once and the hotel security cleared the parking lot last night too... should prove interesting tonight.
Side trip to the beach today. I am pale, and have no tattoos, so I really didn't fit in. But it was a nice experience, and I can say I was there. Plus Sare (or Brian?) found me a souvenir for my bro-in-law, a little toy rhino. :)
Looking forward to the park tomorrow, and whatever we decide to do tonight. And the Borla souunds SWEET (yet not so loud you can't hear the intake, bonus!)

I'm home!
Left Norfolk, VA at 7:12 AM, arrived Hilliard, OH at 4:55 PM. I'm beat, only 4 hours sleep two nights in a row, and a 9 hour drive by myself, I'm beat. If I'm really energetic, I'll drive to Krogers and get some milk for breakfast and do a quick car wash to get the 600+ miles of bugs off of my baby.
I have mixed emotions about this year's CougarFest, it was mostly really good, and I am glad I went.
No updates till I'm less tired, and more calm.
Well since we are exagerating; I dynoed 436HP to the wheels and smoked a viper out on the highway on the way home. Oh yeah, and Diane and I had a 5-some with 3 other chicks at cougarfest.
Now the TRUTH: First off, it was 12 hours there including stops for lunch (though the route was longer than expected...was still better than the route others took through DC so we still made out). It was NEVER claimed to be 7 hours so I dunno where that one came from either. Thanks to James the trip home was much faster and we also avoided DC. We never dropped below 70- and most of it was 75-80mph home. Diane and I had a great time and the weather was great too. One brief bit of rain but it didnt really spoil anything. Not as hot and humid as Pigeon Forge either. It was HOT but not quite as bad as last year. We cruised back part of the way with the Pennsylvania/Connecticut/New York crew and that was a blast- though I nearly mangled the very nice back end of a No-LImit- equiped car. Sorry CougarGurl. Dyno was cool; I put down a surprisingly good number. The averages were in the 130 range (hot and humid and indoors) and I ran 145.8 . I was bested by Brian and a few others too. The top number when I was there (one of the last groups) was only 157-something so I cant complain. I have lots of good quality pics and some mediocre video (though better than last year) so the next time we all get together we can check it out. Peace.

Well I dunno what all I should type and what I shouldnt. LOL Ride down=Sucked for us, 95 was terrible, 6hrs. moved like 20miles 30 tops. But when I got there it was AWESOME. Went out to eat with all of OH Neco that was present and James, had a blast. Then back to DRINK at the hotel, drank a ton of beer with Jeff and my bro Andy who came with me and Chris. Had a great time partying in peoples rooms who I still dont really know. It was amazing, slept like 2hrs and got up at 9am to clean car. Got it clean and prepped and off to show, but not until Andy had a beer at 1030am. The show was nice, quiet location besides the freeway, but no real cop trouble or anything to get into trouble with. The cars looked amazing, and all and all OH did well with the turnout. After the show and doing some mods it was back to the hotel to drink and swim for a few hrs. Then we had some girls we met on 95 in the traffic jam come down 45mins and visit us, and yes they were hott, but left pretty early. Stopped drinking so I could cruise even though my buds kept going cuz well they are badass like that. Left for a cruise at about 1030 or so for like 45 mins. This was after Chris and myself completed an indiglo gauge install and gauge cluster bezel install. The cruise was badass because well yours truly led it. I mean who better qualified then a 20yr old kid who cant stop being a true badass? Slade and I headed the lines as we went 2 wide with about 10-12cars(not huge but hey it works). Then it was back to the hotel to chill a bit before I went out and chilled with Katie(sp) Hooven and chatted awhile. Back to the hotel when we decided to go to the beach in her car cuz Id never drove an ATX Cougar, well I have now, its nice for traffic but man I love my MTX..... Anyhows the beach was nice, and really pretty at night. Chilled for awhile and headed back. The problem was by the time we got back and all it was 5am so I quit drinking and went to bed lol.
The drive home sunday sucked, lost my wallet on the way with all my cash, my visa, my SS card, and some sentimental things I had in there for memories.... O well what can you do? I know, go get a new license today after being in my car for 24 hrs straight the last 2days, 11am til 11am the next day, slept in it and all. O well I m over it.
The event was awesome, I had a blast, hope we get a better turn out next yr.

Being the first Cougar Fest I've been to, I can't really compare it to anything. I had a really good time even though my baby stayed home :( The ride down - yeah could've been quicker, but Slade's fun to ride with so he passed the time. The stay was nice cuz Jeff and Becky are fun to room with. Then put all of us together plus Mark for dinner and I had tears in my eyes cuz I was laughing so hard. Went to the beach on Friday and got burnt. The Fest was OK. At least it was cloudy so there was no sun beating down on us. Then Slade did the dyno which was cool to see. We got to caravan with the Keystone/Empire group and James and they are a crazy bunch. I've got tons of pictures to post. It's storming like a ***** and I was in the middle of scanning when the power went out. 2 hours later I can't scan but I can get online. Go figure. So as soon as I get power I'll finish my scanning and post some stuff.

Sounds like you guys had a great time.
Wish I could've gone but ya know.
That's badass they had a dyno there.
They had one at Sport Compact Nationals but I didn't run on it.
can't wait to see some pics
mike
I was talking to a mechanic friend at work last night and he was tellin me how badass Norwalk was this weekend. Sounds like 2 good simultaneous meets. Hurray for Ohio Neco.
Hey Gyger, I need your opinion on a couple things. Have you seen other dyno plots for the cougar? Regardless of a pretty decent dyno (compared to the average pull that day for other V6 5 spds) I have one concern. Check out my dyno as soon as I get it posted and look at the approx. 6200 rpm+ section. Might be a fuel delivery issue but maybe ignition as well? You'll see. I think Brians was similar but some others I looked at were nice and smooth all the way to redline. I am thinking of doing a complete ignition system (brother hookin me up) but I wonder if I still have fuel issues. Maybe one day we can rent some dyno time and tune our cars.
Here's that dyno page...sorry its sideways; hope this works. Check the upper range and tell me what you think.

Looks normal. I've only seen a couple pulls for the Cougar 5spd's
but that looks like most other peoples.
Our motors make all their HP at like 6,250 or around that RPM range so
that's prob why it's dropping/dipping right after there.
It's kind hard to see though can you scan a bigger version?
P.S. I still have your pictures that you gave me for the calendar
Yes yes- want the pics back. Sorry the pic of the dyno was scanned AFTER it was laminated...looked ok I thought when I posted but now looks like poop and cant even read it...damn ink on it is light red and light blue; I'll show ya in person.

Just wanna say that we made it back in 9hrs. with a 1/2 hr. stop for lunch/gas. Had a great time and the extra days spent there by us were worth it. I believe we were actually the last Cougar to leave. :(
Highlights:
Riding in Dan G's 3.0l Cougar
Driving Grandmasterkhan's Cougar around the lot
Driving James' brand new Tiburon
The Sat. cruise thru a less then desirible neighbor-HOOD
The beach(s)
Our Mon. dinner at Alexanders Rest., we had a beach front table overlooking the beach we were at on Fri., great scallops and shrimp.
Hope more of us can make it next year.
Just wanna say thanks to Sare, Linkman, and Sled for the caravan trip down.
And a special thanks to Slade and Diane for rooming with us.
Jeff.
The ride down a little long but other wise good.
Bry and I had fun.
Cougarfest was cool.
Nice to put faces/cars with the names.
Nice seeing the eastern coast.
Jealous of what people do to their cars.
The beach was awsome.
Got home this morning(wednesday) at 1am, stayed up till 3am. Now back to work tomorrow. :(
I will post what I have of pics later. Im out.
Keep your mouth shut? Hmmm, I'd just be happy if you kept the double posts to a minimum ;)
