Foglamp bulbs???

Ive had two different websites tell me two different size replacement bulbs for the cougars foglamps. One listed 9145 bulbs, and the other site listed H3. Can anyone tell me which size they used?

My 99 uses H3s.

That means your 01 must use the other one.

for the 2001, just use 9005. Its the same as the highbeam bulb. The stock is like 60 watts or so, and thats perfect. Very easy to install, just need to shave 1 of the clips on the plastic for the bulbs. Search around. There are how-to's on it. Plus by using the 9005 highbeam bulb, it gives a brighter illumination and actually projects further. PM me if you need more info.

That's a cool idea...by the way, the manual is wrong. The direct replacement is the H3 bulb.

Im confused, can I use the H3 in my 2001, or will they only work in the 99.

Ellen, I actually didn't have my car up at school at all last year. This coming semester, though I should have it up there.

The H3 bulbs are used in the 99-00 Cougars. You can't use them in your 01.

im not sure if putting a 9005 in your foglight is a good idea, im not sure the current capacity is there. id call your dealer and see what the direct replacement is.

the 9005 foglight conversion is tried and true. Going from a 42 watt bulb to a 60 watt bulb wont do anything. Alot fo the 01-02 people have done this and it works nicely. The stock replacement is H10. I have my stock ones sitting here if you want them. Make me an offer.

My bad, I thought all the years had the same fog light bulb, guess not. Just don't go much higher wattage than the stock and you'll be fine.

PSUCoug, I've seen a ZN yellow on campus a lot, but I guess it's not you. They're always pulling out of the soccer field area onto Park Avenue. Anyway maybe I'll see you around!

Ok heres the deal, your best bet is to take yours out first... there were changes through the years..
mid-year, my 99 has H3s while other 99's have the other bulb...you have the car, take it out.
you have to take it out anyway.
