well i get out of work and im cruisin around with the system up, killing some time when i hit a light. up next to me comes a red prelude, 94, 95, one of those years. from what i could see and hear, he had a fully body kit, rice-ass spoiler, rims and exhaust. anyway, i was planning on testing my newly welded y-pipe eventually but since this guy kept inching forward, what better way to test it. light turns green, we both floor it. its pretty much dead even til my car shifts to second then i pulled on him, maybe a car length til 50 then we let off. i wanted to see what the guy had done to his car but he made the first left after we let off. im not sure what engine it had but i was pretty happy that i took him.

He must have had a 94-95 with the tear drop looking taillights right?
I'm not sure how quick those are BUT
Beware of the 97-00 Prelude MTX that thing will rip you a new one
especially if you are ATX!

Nice kill!
was he Automatic?

Yea it was 94 or 95. They come with either 135, 160, or 190 Horsepower. Supposedly, the Vtec one with 190 runs 0-60 6.7 and 1/4 15.1 so im assuming it was either the 130 or the 160 i beat. ehh who knows.

Yes the 97-2000 MTX is the quickest Prelude they made.
With just an intake and muffler my friends ran a 15.2
the h22 motor in that thing can haul arse

The H22 DOHC Vtec was def. the best prelude out there. A friend of mine has one with a injen CAI, DC Header, full length 2.5" piping with a Apexi N1 muffler, and some cam gears, and he hits mid 14's. Runs decent times at the track.

the 97s up are the quickest. the 97s had a oil problem, sometype of recall crap,, the previous year ludes had up to three engines. the 2.0 ,,2.2 vtec, and the 2.3.
in the newer models the sportshift preludes arent near as quick as the manuals. but if you pull up to one and hes got stick. you better get a good jump and get ready to make up a reason for losing if you cant handle it.
