where to splice wires to connect interior neons?

Ok i am going to put neons either under the dash or the seats, haven't decided yet, but either way i want to tie them into power somewhere, probably the cigarette lighter is the best, but i don't want it to actually be plugged into it, i just want to splice the wires to it. so if someone could tell me where i can connect the ground wire and the other 2 wires, to that would be great, i will have them run through a switch so i can turn them on and off. so let me know. thanks

You can tap both a power and a ground right off the back of the cigarette lighter... put the switch on the positive side of the neon wiring.

how hard is it to get to the back of the cigarette lighter, i don't actually have a cigarette lighter i have t he power thing but same thing. and by positive side of neon wiring do you mean as in between the lighter and the neon? or am i missing something here? perhaps you can draw a diagram on paint for me if that is not to much trouble

its not hard to get to it. you could just take the radio at and youll be at it, or on pass side dash are a few screws you could remove to remove panels.

bova you could rig them into your interior light so they come on automatically when you use your remote to open the car or when you open your doors its dead easy

hmm thats a great idea, could you wire up the underbodies the same way? that would be cool.

tell me how to do that, would i also be able to have the switch to turn them on when i wanted?

mine don't have a cigarette lighter adapter only a red and black wire, so little help to which is which please, i believe red is positive and black is negative, correct me if i am wrong unless one is a grounding wire.

mine are all ready wired in like this hit the button on my key and my red underbodys light up! have not figured out how to rig them up to a switch aswell yet it keeps blowing my interior light when i hook up a switch

bova just get a two way switch take a power lead from the red wire connect it to one side of the switch
take a lead from the other end of the switch to the positive side of your neons
then ground them any where on the car body

ok so i connected the power to the orange wire for the switch and the black wire for ground on the cigarette lighter, there was also a blue wire. if i am wrong with this let me know, but my lights work so i guess it is right.
