I realize that this is probably a really easy thing to do, but i can't find anywhere the says exactely how. I just want to remove so i can get the dash out to customize it a little.

I'm assuming you have a stock Radio, but if not ignore this...
You should have 2 Keys for the stereo, even 1 will work if that's just what you have. You insert the Key into the 2 small holes on the left or right side of the stock unit. i believe you slightly puch the key to the right and it will unlock, after this use the key to pull the unit out. It's also pretty similar if you have an aftermarket unit.

you can get removal keys from walmart in the car stereo section, they are little wire U's. stick them in the holes on each side, spread them apart and pull. if you cant get it or dont want to, go by a car audio shop and they can pop it right out for you, probably for nothing. just dont hit the gas hard with it sitting in there unlocked, it'll fly out.

Honestly you don't need the keys or the tool. If you have two pieces of stiff wire (like a wire hanger) make them into two U-shapes about the same size and use one on both sides of the stereo, putting a piece of wire in each of the 4 holes. You should hear a click like the wire is locking in, then pull and wiggle the stereo at the same time. It might take a few tries, but it will come out.

This is what I tried doing. Maybe I'm just dumb and/or impatient but it didn't work for me. I decided to just spend the $5 and buy the keys. IMO it was worth it but I would still try Ellen's method first. Hopefully you'll have better luck. :)

you're not thinking of stealing someones stereo are you?? if so, just use a crowbar and yank that mug out of dar! and run reallllllly fast.
if you're not stealing, just do what they said, it'll work too
