nope nothing like that anywhere around... I think I'm the only one that uses a Cougar strictly for racing (within cooga). No matter what they say about the cougar it is not the best platform to start with when building a car to put thru that kind of stress. I run naturally aspirated since the scca wont let any modifications to your engine, my best run in the 1/4 mile is 14.2 but i don't like running it because it requires no skills. add some curves and distance and then we are talking, but thats my personal opinion. you can go to road atlanta and take a driving course (highly recommended) even if you think you are a good driver. they will teach you the dynamics of your vehicle and smooth out your driving skills --smooth is fast-- Join Atlanta Sports Car Club of America. not only will you get the chance to race, but you'll get schooled too which is more important than anything else. www.atl-scca.org will give you a link to all the info you need plus a link to other racing clubs if you are interested. call (785) 232-7213 for a GCR (general competitions rules) you need to know those. you'll need a full physical exam, 2 pictures, and then go to scca driving school. plan to spend about 750 bucks. but its well spent money. look into it, i wish i had more information for you but i was half way thru doing my homework on this when i got shipped out. Im looking forward to doing this but the end of this year. I have a friend thats really into road rallies and i can put you in contact with him if you like. Now if you are just looking for 1/4 mile runs and street racing talk to the people hanging around on Import Nights at Atlanta Drag Way, obviously they wont be published or posted anywhere... the only way to find out is word of mouth.

I would have to agree that Trix is the top "drive it like you stole it " COOGAN! but then he does have the confidence that what ever he tears up..he can fix the next day! There is one guy near me in Fayetteville who is also a total gear head , but unfortunately Willard wasn't particularly interested in being active with COOGA. Some of you might remember his profile from the old site, his handle was willc2. black c2 with gc / intake/ apexi cat back/ 18" wheels ect...that car is sweet! What started out being a demo on how well the GC ride was became an experience I wont forget. What started a just a cruise , through some nice corners and over some bumps so I could feel the ride. then turn onto South fulton parkway.....he says and I quote " this thing really squats at 140" my reply" oh that's cool.....oh sh!t next thing I know he's churning through the gears and before I know it speedo's pegged over 140. Now boys and girls...whenever Andy stretches out the little zetec engine that could he hits about 115 where the governer kickes in and then returns to a reasonable speed. Weeee! wasn't that fun? Unfortunately for me Willard likes to hit top speed and stick it untill we run out of road.....Of course , I kept quiet trying to keep the grimice on my face invisable and my prayers inaudioable. I'm pretty sure the grab handle on the pass. door needed some adjustment after I was done. So the moral I guess is that there are some folks out there, we just haven't uncovered many of them....
EDIT:btw...these things do really squat at 140..........................
