So, welcome to Virginia Beach. Welcome, that is, as long as you don't sashay up the beach in your thong, curse in front of grandmothers or small children, throw a Frisbee on the beachfront, cruise your car with the radio too loud or get drunk and fornicate in public.
I saw this in the newspaper: Virginia Beach: No Bad Behavior (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?pagename=article&node=&contentId=A36153-2003May24¬Found=true)

Oh, believe me, it is. In VA Beach, they will pull you for looking at them wrong.
Other signs list the voluntary "rules of common courtesy," passed by the City Council, that ask visitors to refrain from cursing, sexually explicit behavior or "any behavior which is likely to intimidate, harass or disrupt the peaceful enjoyment of others."
I never was much of a volunteer.
So they mean to tell me that I am gonna drive 8 hours or so and NOT have sex on the beach?! :bs:
Yeah right!
Loud radio? fine, prolly have my ear attached to the FRS anyway. Thong...well, maybe not on me...but the girls are more than welcome to. I wont be offended. Besides, who the hell sashays up the beach anyway? Grandma...best keep your wrinkley arse at home this week. And finally, what kind of a beach dissallows frisbees? WTF? Isnt that like the one place you are supposed to throw frisbees? Someone down there in VA has some serious insecurity issues IMO. Too many bossy rules. I plan to break as many as possible with my ninja-like stealth:evil:

I could have told you this **** when I first heard it was going to be in VA... VA has the most stuck up laws in the union... and I almost decided not to go just because it was in VA.
But I am going now... but go with the understanding that I will likely get to meet the police in that state, I just hope no one gets in any real trouble.

Jason, don't lie!!! You know damn well those up-freakin-tight bike cops down there that ride around with a night stick up their arse have nothing better to do than harass decent people with nice cars. the beach SUCKS!!! If we are going to a beach, we should go to Chicks Beach or Sandbridge.

yes, sandbridge is a quieter beach and we can gather there. and it's a fun drive to get there out. not as much chick exposure but there's a nice big parking lot that we can fill up...

yeah....the stupid biker cops are the worse....there's some hot chick biker cops though....uh...yeah...but anyway....i stick by my original statement...if we cruise the strip as a large group, it would be fun and i doubt cops would mess with that too much....

well, according to the survey (http://www.vbgov.com/city_hall/boards/docs/conductcodesurvey_resident.pdf) regarding the behavior policy, the average age was 44 and 75% of respondents were white.

those stupid commies. it is mind boggling how these people can rip away our rights like that. it is also freaking amazing how they manipulate the survey to get the results they want. i cant even get started cause i will go on and on. i do like Sandbridge, It will be a more relaxed atmosphere. but maybe jason is right, the man might leave us alone since we will be in such a large group and most of us are out of state.

unforetunatly i think its the other way around. Who better to give tickets to than out of state folks? What out of state person will come back to Virginia to fight their ticket in court? They'll just have to pay it and take the points. At least thats how Georgia cops think. Allz I know is Im gonna be on the DL when Im up there. Last thing I need is another ticket...

Yes they will want to stick it to us for being out of state, but thankfully, being out of state also means they can't ticket you for not following their absurd vehicle code, which doesn't allow even an exhaust louder than stock. Virginia is the California of the east in terms of pointless vehicle codes that seemingly infringe on protected rights. Because it will be harder for them to rack up the fines due to code infractions, they just might not bother. It is an unfortunate crapshoot.
Oh, and I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but my least favorite law in VA is the ban on Radar Detectors. Now that is BS.

Actually though, it is a Virginia Commie-wealth law that if you are driving through Virginia, you must abide by all Virginia laws, regardless of what state you are registered in. A friend that is registered in PA tried fighting that for window tint, he had 20% all around but got a ticket. He went to court for it but the judge found him guilty still because "If you are in Virginia, you have to abide by all of Virginia's laws." The kid is in the military though, and the pig knew he lived here. But still, it is bullsh!t!!! But I am registered in Ohio and I am in the military and I have not even gotten a warning or anything yet.

He's right. I live in PA and was in NYC not too long ago and got a ticket for a lisence plate cover. I thought the same thing you did and they cant ticket me so i just wouldnt pay it and oh well who cares. Well they can ticket you for their laws and if your smart you will pay it because after doing a little bit of research i found out that the state that gave you the ticket has the option to suspend your lisence in their state which you may think hey no big deal. Well after that they are allowed to notify your home state and if your state wants to they have the option to suspsend your lisence until the ticket is paid.
Looks like its gonna be a fun weekend. I cant wait to see how strict the cops are. I just see myself getting a public drunkeness ticket already, oh well thank god im old enough to drink so it wont be that big of a deal.
