at the local bestbuy (this might be a bad sign in the first place) i found some open boxed pioneer 6x9s 4 way speakers for about 100, reg 122 (on sale). i dont have the model # but they're the ones with the blue cones, silver circle, and brusehd aluminum center. basically are they worth it? i'm a little image concious i dont want my system to look/be cheap. so give me your advice...also what about the 6x8s, tweeters, etc...the brushed aluminum would go really well with my theme.
ps can the cone be painted another color?

Don't get them at Best Buy. Using bestbuy.com...the model # is TS-A6980R for the 4-way.
Check out the same speakers on etronics.com (http://etronics.resultspage.com/display.php?w=TS-A6980R&p=Q&ts=dynamic&Store=&image1.x=4&image1.y=12).
To see other stores that carry these speakers...go to Epinions.com (http://www.epinions.com) and search for the model#...best buy is the most expensive.
Your welcome

the stock sizes are 6x8, 5x7's fit as well. to fit 6x9's your gonna have to do some modifying of the door.

i have a friend with a civic, and he has 2 of those in the front, and 2 in the back. personally, i dont like them as much as the 3-ways. they sound ok, but if your an audiophile, i wouldnt suggest them. definatly not pioneers best work. but i have the 2-ways, and they kick!!!! and i got them at best buy, and they've been fine. i instaled them myself instead of having besy buy do it for $35. i found a site that shows you how to remove the door panel if you havent done it before. Go Here (http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalMercuryCougar1FDrPnl.htm). i think the 4-ways have too much of the higher pitches, and sound too squeeky...and i havent got that from mine. but if you have a nice headunit or EQ to cancel that out, then go for it. but the kid i know with the 4-ways has like a $400 pioneer headunit, and they still sound too high. just thought i would let you know what i know about em. good luck

good how to, i needed that to redo my door inserts anyway hmmmm might as well do speakers at the same time. audio is on the last of my list really...but i do want to upgrade my system and those pioneers would go well with my interior. they make ones that have a white cone but they dont have the silver grill thing...so can i paint the blue ones, or where could i find just the covers to put over the white ones?
