Yep, I'm retiring the Cougar from Solo2 competition....although I never raced it once this year (just last year quite a few times).
I'm buying a 1986 Honda Civic/CRX Si hatchback MTX for $400 from my freind's Dad. Runs fanatastic, not too much rust at all, and the Honda aftermarket is just too huge! I've already got fresh Falken Azenis and a KKM intake from my Cougar to transfer onto the new mini-ride. It should be A LOT CHEAPER to build up, plus it's a fraction of the size of the Cougar. Lastly, I won't feel bad beating on it. I would often get teared-up when I'd make the Cougar screeeeeeam at 5500-6000 rpms. It'll allow me to garage the Cougar for winter as well!
In the future, I'm hoping to liven the engine up and get 'er road-course ready to have some fun on a real track. Someday!
In the end, the Cougar will likely get traded in for a 2004/2005 F-150 next year.
