My car wouldn't start this morning, would turn over, but not run, or only run for a few moments, or stall when put into gear or pressed on the gas....:disgust: Have 2000/ATX/3-1/2 years old/33,200 miles. Thank god bought an extended warranty. Called nearest dealer (Liberty L/M, Clifton, NJ) told service writer of my problem and my thoughts that it's the fuel pump, and she agreeed that probably is. Made arrangements for tow there but won't know until tomorrow what the problem is. Their shop is small and very busy, as 2 other L/M dealerships have closed up recently - Compass in Orange, NJ and Rickel (Acione) in North Bergen, NJ, so Liberty has to cover for warranty work they did. Also asked service writer of hearing rumors of a revised fuel pump, and thought may be one as seem to have less problems with failures recently - I hope this is true  I'll post tomorrow of any results.

Liberty Lincoln Mercury eh? That's where I bought my Coug. I really don't like their service tho. They had my car for 4 days when my first alternator crapped out, which is funny, because when THAT alternator died, I brought it to my mechanic, and he did it in 4 hours, AND he didn't even have the alt. in his shop. They did give me a good deal on a stock rim when I bent one of mine tho.

Liberty L/M got my car delivered by tow truck around late morning on Wednesday. It was still outside the shop all day Thursday, but apparently finally into the shop sometime on Friday, but still no word when will be worked on and what actually wrong. There getting a call Monday around Mid-morning. Although I have the extended warranty, I only get $28 a day for car rental, when actually at least $38 a day at nearby Enterprise...and for me more as no small/cheap cars available, so had to go up to a Pontaic Grand Am, although it is a 2004, built less that an month ago, with the hot V-6 (but pushrod not DOHC like our cars). Is a lot better than Geo Metro had last year when car getting body work done due to an accident not of my fault. Heres to hope that can get car late Monday or early am Tuesday...

Yep, it was the fuel pump. Car went in last Wednesday, must have worked on it late Friday and early today (Monday). Hope don't have this problem again, but will reduce risk by fueling up when or before gauge hits 1/4 mark:cool:
