Man this sucks hehe. The mods his Z28 has is an exhaust cutout, SLP air lid, ram air mod and crank underdrive pulley.
Stock bonus parts :) LS6 intake manifold, believe slightly better heads and cams than the older LS1s and 2.72 gears

Myself, SLP Air lid, SLP 85mm MAF, Hooker cat-back, LS1 intake manifold, 3.73 gears, and soon to be installed 3500 TCI Super Street Fighter stall. Should have already been installed but not going into that, had some beef with the local performance shop.

Anyway from a 70 roll. First time, we both tried to power shift since we're both A4 down into 2nd. Well in my old 3.23's that wasn't a problem. Can't do that now hehe, I immediatly redline as soon as I punch it hehe. So got nailed.

2nd run, again 70 roll. . .just left it 3rd.

From 70 to 120 I pulled a car length on him. But at 130 he starts to pull and at 140 he flys by like I'm sitting still.

Every time we ran, same returns. We ran once from a 50 roll, I nailed several cars on him and this time by 140 he didn't fly by me but was gaining some ground. I feel if we kept at it he would have nailed me.

Only draw back for 3.73s though I guess. Strickly good for the track. . . .which as soon as the stall gets installed I will be making some more rounds :)

Not sure much on the differences between the 99 and 02 LS1's but apparntely the LS6 intake and the slightly better heads and cam is enough.

'01-'02s have about a 15-20 rwhp advantage over '97-'99 LS1s. The newer LS1s have a 5.3 truck cam which gives better mid-range power compared to the older LS1 cams, but the older ones have a better top end.
