I've been trying to go to an Auto-X tournament but I can't seem to find any here in Southern California. How did you guys get into Auto-X? I'm a fairly new MTX driver and I kind of have the hang of it. I wanna give auto-x a try because I love pushing my car to the limit, especially on turns. My problem is that the Cougar is still stock. How does a stock Cougar fair in these tournaments? Can somebody give me some tips on getting started?

You're best option is to head over to the SCCA website (http://www.scca.org) and find the nearest region. The region will probably also have a website with a schedule of events. Once you get into autocrossing a bit, you'll probably also find other car clubs in your area hosting autocrosses.
My advice for getting started is to NOT modify your car. Fast drivers win at autocrossers, not just guys in fast cars. After you get a season or so of driving in, then think about modifications. The only thing you probably need to change on the car is to add more air in the tires... I typically run about 40 psi all around, but it's tire/weather dependant. Other than that, be smooth, look ahead, have fun!

Also, browse through the Autocross FAQ at the top of the autocross forum here. You could pick up a few pointers to help you.
