so today I went to a dealership to test drive a GTP, which to my woefully great demise, I am unable to buy until I pull myself out of negative equity. driving the Cougar on the way home, I encountered a couple of throttle-happy drivers at some stoplights:
1. E46 BMW 325i sedan...I stayed ahead of him in 1st gear, but steadily pulled ahead of me in 2nd gear. crap. :banghead:
2. 3G Eclipse GT ATX...I got the jump on him, but he stayed at my door throughout 2nd gear, which by the time some old Buick pulled out into my lane and I had to slow down. crap. :banghead:
right now, I am sooo aching to take home thet GTP. flooring the throttle from a dead stop spins the wheels as much as dumping the clutch from 3000 in the Cougar. acceleration is in a completely different league, obviously. it kinda reminds me of those Roadrunner & Coyote cartoons where the coyote catapults himself with that ACME kit with the huge rubber band. :cool:
