I wasn't sure where to put this, but considering why I need the information (to post pics of my Cougar), I thought this was the most appropriate section...

Here's my "issue"...I just bought the Sanyo 8100 phone (the one w/ the camera in it)...What is the best way to download pics taken with the phone onto my computer so that I can post them?

I saw a post in For Sale (HERE) (http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=76248) for a Sanyo phone and he is offering a "data cable" with it. Do I need a cable like that (or perhaps that cable would work with my phone?) to download pics?

I apologize for my general lack of knowledge about computers, but I know that there are many knowledgable members out there, so I was hoping one of you would be kind enough to help me!

Many Thanks,
Charles

Like I said before, I JUST bought the phone, and I don't really know how to operate all its features properly yet, but I am under the impression that I can e-mail pics from the phone...I am thinking I can e-mail them to my computer and then store them in "my pictures". This would save me from needing a data cable. Is this correct? Would getting a data cable save me time & effort? Does anyone know how to send the data to the computer from the phone if a cable is indeed what I need? I tried e-mailing pics from the phone, but apparently I did something wrong b/c the poeple I e-mailed didn't get the pics...any tips?

Again, I'm sure I sound like a moron, and I'm sorry for all the questions, but I just don't know all that much about the "computing thing" (my knowledge is very basic in nature), so if you all could "walk me through things" I would REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks again,
Charles

EDIT...I dunno what happened to the post I was responding to (seems to have been deleted), but just in case anyone thinks I'm nuts, I really didn't respond to myself here! Haha!

All you have to do is take the picture and send it to your email address. Go check your email, download the picture, right-click the picture and save it to your desktop or wherever. No data cable needed. Make sure that you put the email address in the phone book entry of the person you are trying to send it to. I just made an entry in my phonebook for myself with only an my email address in it. That way you can send pics to yourself.
