Hey,
I've been following your posts on engine work, supercharger and turbo applications. But I haven't seen anything about a finished product with #'s, availability, and pricing yet. Do you have an ETA for us folks? I ask b\c I will hopefully be undertaking a major engine upgrade of some kind this winter......at least thats why I took on a second job.

Everythig has been on hold for the past month or so b/c of a wedding that I was in, I moved, and we're trying to finish up my fathers racecar. I should be back on the projects within the next week and a half. After that I will have more info as to when things will be done.

I'm in the process of mocking up the headers for the v6 turbo kit. I recieved the blower pulley for the crank for the s/c. I bolted it up. I just got my idler pulleys for the blower belt. They are NICE, billit aluminum with roller bearing centers, 90mm. I will have the S/C next week. I am modifying a 3.0L UIM to use with an Eaton M90 supercharger. I have finalized all with the supercharger kit. It will consist of a intake manifold and supercharger, pulleys, 42lb injectors, the throttle body will be an 03 Cobra TB. This thing has the idle air built in and is dual 57 mm. Also for more money I can upgrade to a single blade throlle body (aprox. $450 more). The kit will also come with an 80 or 90 mm MAF meter for the 42lb injectors, and a chip from diablo sport. The kit will run 3000.00 with an hour of dyno time included. It should be a nasty piece. Talk to you later.

Where does the eaton sit? Why a 3L UIM and cobra TB? Any picts yet?

The eaton will sit on the back valve cover, the 3.0L UIM gives me a good base to modifly with all the intake runners pointed in the right direction. The entry on the eaton is strait in the back and the 03 cobra intake and TB will work great with that. I can cut and weld on the 3.0L and it will fit the heads and make a good base for the eaton. No pics yet. Probably next week monday or tuesday.

gosh. IIRC, people with the vortec S/C and/or a 3L had problems using 24lb injectors and reverted to 19s. wouldn't 42s be overkill?!?

btw, why did you choose the Eaton over the Whipple? Isn't the whipple supposedly more efficient?

Its all in the tune man, I finally figured out what my problems were with 42's and now it idles all day. I shoudl make a post letting everyone know...
Its OK to have a little overkill on returnless cars, just as long as it idles and has fuel when in WOT it doesn't matter to much. You do get some benifit with smaller injectors and better operating range of the injectors but I think its almost negligible in the sizes were talking about. Either way 42's idle well and I get 30+ mpg when I keep out of the throttle on mine.

I drive 50 miles a day with only 3 stops I get to acelerate then, otherwise its nice to get such good fuel economy.

Can't wait to see those and hopefully FWHP numbers. Any idea what this might put down?

Have you tried putting the blower behind the 3.0L manifold on the valve cover. The 3.0L upper is shifted toward the back compared to the 2.5L upper and I'm not sure one would fit back there. The coil pack is also in the way.

Should have something for you guys in the next few weeks. Keep your eyes and ears peeled kiddies.
My car is crying for boost!
Street Flight Kit - Too expensive
Vortech Kit - Not sure I could trust it
Looking for other options...hope this turns into something.

Street Flight - worth every $$$ because your paying for reliability, testing, and lots of torque
Vortech - Can't be trusted in stock form but someone over on CEG is now selling an upgraded support and bearing for the supercharger end of the shaft which will eliminate the known failures of this kit

The difference in price is about $1500-$2000 ... when boosting a vehicle, you should have that much handy just in case you break something.
<whine> But Trevor, I wanna make 300fwhp with only the spare change and pocket lint from my jeans!!! </whine>

What do you mean, I can't?! Obviously you don't know what the hell you're talking about, so take your stupid admin powers and stick it!
:loser:
Edit- Alan, not a poke at you, but to others... They know who they are.

Dan I need you around when I speak to kids out by me...
All I hear is "turbo" this and "Nitrous" that...Heck these kids are luck if they can get blown, forget about geting the car blown.
Seriously, Any major modification, above and beyond an intake setup and an exhaust setup will require one of 2 things...
1. Lots of money for part and labor for repairing a forseen or unforseen problem.
2. Some money for parts, time and the skills to do the labor yourself.
I mean, I do run Nitrous (on a very very very very rare basis), however all it takes is one time for something to fail, and BOOOM. I can pull my own engine and tranny, but I cannot do the rebuild, and I don't have the machines to cast or forge my own, crank, pistons, rods, etc. So at minimum I'll need to drop some money on replacing that.
Either way...I'd like to see what jagular comes up with...options are always nice and so is originality...Good luck Jag...same to you Dan with your 3L stuff.
The 3L is in, and she runs like a dream. Especially above 4k- Ask Trevor- He's driven it!
As for cost? PM me and I'll make you sign a "non-disclosure to my wife" agreement before I tell you. It was over $5k, and you can see the entire project from start to finish by selecting http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/attachments/3LProject01.jpg - 3LProject93.jpg. Why so much? 'Cause I got screwed with the block, but instead of doing a half-assed job, I did it right with the right materials.
Wow. Talk about your thread hijacks. :cover:
