Hey, here's a vid of my new exhaust and what it sounds like from outside the car.

Sorry about the quality, I used microsoft's movie maker cause it's the easiest editor I have and it saved the file as wmv file so the quality isn't that great.

I also told my dad, who drove while I worked the camera, to take it easy on the boost cause my fuel system is still not 100%. So he only floored it when he passed me.

It's all 3" mandrel bent from the downpipe to the tailpipe, with a 3" Dynomax straight through muffler. The vid doesn't really do it justice, but here it is.

I like how the exhaust sounds. I just got a quote last week for a side exhaust exiting the WW side skirt. I was waiting on the tip to come in, but now the hold up is getting my car to start. The bov is amazingly loud. How much boost are you running now?

I LOVE THAT GROWL when you drive by... the turbo spooling, the BOV going between shifts.... right now you win title for best sounding Cougar... HANDS DOWN!!!

That's awesome. I didn't even realize it was a Zetec until you had the underhood shot.

That's wicked.

It sounds really good. How much boost and HP are you running? Do you have any track times yet?

yours will sound different ness, the turbo muffles and smoothes out the exhaust alot.

Thanks for the compliments. Wow, and I wasn't really happy with how it sounded in the video.

Drive-by's are awesome, it does have a wicked growl at WOT and full boost. Driving in parking garages is also fun. I set off every alarm now. Only running 7psi now, I was pushing 6, but the new exhaust got rid of a lot of back pressure and it now puts out 7psi.

The muffler I got is a Dynomax, from Summit Racing, part # WLK-17223. I got that muffler cause this guy on the web did a test of 4 different race mufflers and that muffler in a three inch exhaust setup flowed better than just 3" straight pipe. The guy said it offered zero backpressure. I can believe it.

Here's a link to that web site.

I may have lost a little power below 3000rpm since doing the exhaust, but the car revs a lot easier now. And when I do take it past 4000 and half throttle the car just want to pull hard. For any of you guys wanting to get a similar setup, remember with 3" straight through and no cat I have no backpressure after the turbo now, for you NA guys a straight through muffler might not be the best. But Summit does have simmilar mufflers from 3" to 2" straight through.

My HP & TQ numbers are in my sig. That was at 6 psi with the stock fuel and ECU and just using 93 octane, with a little 105 octane to prevent detonation. I just run 93 on the street so I don't like to push it too hard until I can get a chip. Even with a lean A/F ratio, that's more TQ at the wheels than stock V6 Cougars have at the crank. Soon as I get too StreetFlight, 200+whp here I come.
