do0d...

I like em.

The Clutch engages sooooo much more smoothly than the Stock Cougar clutch. I didn't expect it to be THAT smooth, but so far I'm impressed.

The acceleration feels to have improved when switching from gear to gear and maybe somewhat through the powerband. I can't really tell If I've lost any torque, but I wouldn't think so.

The clutch pedal seems lighter to press too... which I was a bit confused about... I expected it to be harder to press down...

There's a smaaaaall amount of vibration/stuttering when engaging first gear, which im not sure is normal, but the parts are brand new to me and the car.

The clutch also engages at about the same point where the original clutch does. I would have expected the engage point to be further down on the brand new clutch. Are our transmissions set up with auto adjusting clutches?

So far I'm only 75 miles into the use of the new hardware, so I haven't really got on it yet. I think I plan on waiting the 500 typical miles before really jumping on it.

That's my experience thus far.

How much did you pay for your SVT clutch and flywheel?

about 450 including shipping... flywheel, clutch plate, clutch assembly and slave cylinder

That's not a bad price. Out of curiosity, why did you decide to go with an SVT clutch? I bought my SPEC stage 3 clutch for $420 -- it came with it's own pressure plate and slave cylinder.

*I'm not criticizing your purchase, I'm just curious. I do have an SVT flywheel now and I'm hoping to see a little improvement, but it's only like 3lbs lighter than the cougar's, isn't it? If I had the money I would probably buy the $400 fidanza at 11.5 lbs.

money, time and warranty.

- Time/Money.. The car was in the shop and in order to get it done within the week I needed what parts I could get for the money I had.
- The work was under warranty, so I felt that putting in OEM parts would go over better.

That... and I don't think I really had a need for a super light flywheel or special after market clutch.

If I could ultimately get 190 horse out of my car... I'd be happy... and thats not a lot of power pressing on an SVT clutch... even so... I probably won't see anything near that for a long time if ever.

:)
