This weekend (weekend of the 4th)

I thought maybe this weekend we could all go to a park or something, and have a cookout/picnic....Everyone could just bring something(meat, bread, chips, soda, etc...)

I know there were quite a few of the Tampa/Lakeland people that didn't go to Bash for various reasons, so I thought it'd be cool to hang out with everyone for a little while. (anyone from the state is more then welcome to come if ya'd like)

Anyone wanna do this????

Edit: If you are interested in this, please post what day would be good for ya.....Friday, Saturday, or Sunday (I'm assuming people are off Friday) and I guess majority will be what we go for....I guess I could post Thursday night once I get home from work so that way we know when/where to go.......The only park I really know of is the one that we went to a few months ago, anyone else got any other suggestions on where we could go?.... maybe somewhere more central to everyone :shrug:

You would need to find a pretty good size park.........with it being 4th of July weekend, EVERYTHING is going to be PACKED!!!!



I wouldnt be able to go :( I have to work all weekend except for Sunday morning :cry:

Alicia will be here late Thursday and I'm sure she'd like to see everyone again...Honestly though I think Saturday would be so much better...For one we will have to have a good size park and two Saturday will be much less busy and we'll be able to have more fun...I have tried to find a table at parks here in Lakeland on the 4th and if you're not there when the park opens you won't get one...On Saturday you'll have your pick...Plus Alicia and I are going to my sisters Friday the 4th for BBQ and to shoot off fireworks for my neice....That's my suggestion but of course i am always open to others.

Ok, sounds like Friday is OUT!...... So from what it seems like, Saturday will be the day. Plus if we meet on Saturday, I think Michelle works in the late afternoon (4 or 5ish) so she could hang out for a while if she wanted....So where do we wanna go????

J, I'm all for hangin out at your place if you want to get something together too....What day were you lookin at doin it? (I assume you're workin on Saturday :shrug: )

Hey Chris...Have you thought about maybe going bowling or something instead of sitting outside in the hot sun all day?...You know we can get some mean bowling tournements going...lol...Either that or we could all go downtown Ybor to GameWorks and act like kids again...They have a kickass 6 car racing simulator thats a blast...Just a couple ideas.

GameWorks would be however much you wanted to spend playing games.. except you have to buy there little credit card thing which is like $5 i think.. then you pay how much $ you wanna put on the card...

think last time i went there, i spent like $75.. i ended up beating some star wars game there. :rofl:

i am all for bowling of course...this time i am bringing my OWN bowling balls (i didnt when we played when Greg was down from Canada and Michelle beat me 116 to 114!!) So we cant have that happening again!

game works i would probably pass on...or maybe just go hang out and watch. Maybe an air hockey tourney though...i could get into that i guess.

If we have a "mod meet" it's gotta be something light...It's too damn hot and most of the time too wet to do anything to our cars...At least with a picnic we can get under a shelter if it rains.

Chris...I know it seems like a bit of a drive but I'm actually willing to drive it if everyone wants to go to Fort DeSoto for a picnic....There's the beach, great fishing, the fort, canoe and kayak rentals and two places on the piers to get food or we can bring our own again...It's also a great place to get some cool pictures of the Cougars...I'll bring a couple fishing poles and a bait bucket...What do you Say?????????????:grouphug:...THINKING.........Stil l THINKING..........YEAH:banana:

I agree with the whole mod meet thing....pretty hot. The only thing I really have for my car is my interior LED changing, and putting my pillars back in....most of it could be done inside.

Fred, I'm not sure where Ft DeSoto is...I think I've been there a long time ago....refresh my memory :shrug: AND would we be able to get a "section" on a Saturday? That seems like it would be cool...I'd like to get some good pics of all of our Cougars......

Does anyone else have any input in this.......and who is all plannin on meetin :shrug: I'd like to see what everyone wants to do as apposed to just me and Fred........

everyone could come over to our place: volleyball, basketball, baseball, tennis, pool...all within a few feet of our front yard since we face the community center...bbq is a little broke but could probably be used....we could probably make some room in our garage for a cougar to do mods.

Anyway...To answer your question about Ft. Desoto...It's just a few miles past Tropicana Field...I have actually made it from Lakeland in just over an hour...It's all interstate so it's pretty quick...Trust me, there is plenty of room and picnic tables for us...The place is huge...It only costs 35 cents in tolls...The park is FREE...Tight wads...lol...It's aperfect place for us to go...What does everyone think???:shrug:

That's the cool thing about Desoto...There are several places where you go right down to the waters edge and still be under pine trees...It's basically like a reserve...with the ocean breeze I think we'll be just fine...I'm going to watch the weather channel first thing in the morning to make sure we want to drive there...It's a nice place but I don't think you want to be there when a storm hits...lol...:cover:...I think early is probably better...Say 10am...Then we can get there settle in a spot.."Throw Frisbee" :rofl:...jk..lol...There is a B-ball court if I remember correct...We can check out the fort and get some good pics on it, do a little fishing...10am and we should beat the rain...How does this sound...We can all meet at Best Buy and jump on 275 South from there....Best Buy 10am????...Let's get a count of whos going too?

well..it was short but sweet....Chris, Rob and I went to Michelle's work after and had some lunch...then came home to sit around in the AC and watch some Horsepower TV on tape.

Eric and TIffany called me and came by to hang out a while too. (rob then fell asleep :biggrin: )

Oh hell yeah...My dad and I used to hit the Skyway about every other weekend...That was back before you could even drive on it...We used to have to try and snag a broke down grocery cart at the begging of the bridge and load up our stuff and walk about half a mile to fish...Now they charge you but at least you can drive out to the end of it and buy bait rigth there...Great idea....Hope it's soon.
